Chapter 99
Aurora scanned her surroundings, quickly realizing she had been kidnapped. She ran through the list of people she had offendedโit wasnโt a long one. She could count them on one hand. When Chuck appeared, Auroraโs gaze remained calm, as if she had expected this all along. Her expression barely changed, looking at him the same way one would at a pathetic clown.
Chuck noticed the way she looked at him and grabbed her chin in irritation, his voice dark. "What's with that look? Are you trying to threaten me? Hmm? Say something."
Aurora let out a cold snort from her chest, then glanced downward, signaling with her eyes that her mouth was still gagged.
At that moment, Linda stepped forward and ripped the cloth from her mouth, her face full of smug satisfaction. โWhatโs wrong? Whereโs that arrogance you had back in the conference room?โ She even patted Auroraโs cheek, a mocking smile on her lips.
Aurora spat to the side. "What, you think kidnapping me will get you back into Walton Corporation? And you, Chuck." She shot a glare at his hand. "I'd advise you to let me go now. Otherwise, once Iโm out of here, I wonโt let any of you off the hook."
Chuck, however, showed no fear. Instead, his gaze roamed over Aurora, appreciating how stunning she looked even in this situation.
Aurora felt nothing but disgust.
But Chuck hadnโt forgotten his main objective. He sneered. "Donโt blame me. Blame yourself for crossing the wrong people."
Aurora frowned. Before she could process his words, Chuck suddenly released her chin and clapped his hands. The warehouse doors swung open, and three or four thuggish-looking men strode inside.

Her eyes widened, an icy chill spreading from the soles of her feet.
Lindaโs eyes gleamed with madness. โWhatโs wrong? Are you scared now? Itโs too late for that, you bitch. Whereโs that arrogance of yours now?โ The thugs looked at Aurora, bound to the chair, unable to move. Her features were delicate, her figure striking. Their eyes lit up with wicked delight.
One of them grinned lecherously. โWell, arenโt we lucky today?โ
โYeah,โ another chimed in, chuckling darkly. โDidnโt think weโd get a treat like this.โ
โDonโt worry, beautiful, weโll take real good care of you.โ
For the first time, a flicker of panic flashed in Auroraโs eyes. She turned to Chuck, her voice rising sharply. โChuck, stop this! Do you even know who I am?โ
Chuck scoffed. โLike I give a damn. Youโre just a broke student. Get on with it!โ At his command, the men advanced toward Aurora.
Meanwhile, outside Walton Corporation
Lucasโ right eyelid twitched suddenly, a sense of unease creeping into his chest. He had been late today, but he had sent Aurora a message explaining the delay. Yet, she never replied.
His gaze lifted to the Walton Corporation building. They had agreed earlier that she would wait for him. Why wasnโt she out yet? His lips pressed into a thin line, and his dark eyes turned cold. Something wasnโt right.
Pulling out his phone, he called Aurora. Seconds ticked by. When the call finally ended with an automatic disconnect, the unease in his chest solidified into a sinking dread.

Even when busy, Aurora would never leave work this late without a word. With no other choice, Lucas strode toward the front desk.
โHave you seen Aurora Walton?โ
The receptionist looked up, startled. โMiss Walton? She left right after work. I havenโt seen her since.โ
Lucasโ heart clenched. Something was very wrong.
