Chapter 89

Jake was clearly out of the loop. He furrowed his brow. "Why can't he be here? I heard Thea isn't feeling well. I had something to attend to yesterday and left early, so I came to check on her today. What's going on!" The production team quickly sent someone to explain the situation to Jake.

Emmalie, appearing awkward and helpless, pressed on. "So, Jake, you didn't go looking for Thea last night?" Jake's confusion deepened. "No."

Noticing the strange looks from those around him, Jake seemed to realize something, and his handsome face darkened.

Emmalie feigned concern. "Jake, don't worry. I'm sure Thea would never do something like that. It's probably a misunderstanding. She might have just had too much to drink. Just wait a moment. I'll call her out. After all, you two have been together for so many years, and she surely loves you." The production crew was thrilled; they hadn't expected to uncover such explosive news. The Hendrix family was a well-known dynasty, but Jake was apparently being cheated on.

Jake gritted his teeth in anger, but in front of so many people, he had to maintain what little dignity he had left. "Let Thea come out. If there's a misunderstanding, I'm willing to hear her explanation."

Emmalie knocked harder on the door. "Thea, don't throw a tantrum now. Come out quickly so we can explain. You've been inside for so long. There's no way there's really another man in there, right? Don't joke about this." Emmalie seemed worried for Thea and the Rowland family's reputation.

Ivy sensed something was amiss and hurried over with a group of people. Seeing Jake standing there nearly made Ivy faint from anger.

Furious, Ivy knocked forcefully on the door. "Thea, what have you done? Open the door!"

Emmalie added fuel to the fire. "Mom, what should we do? With such a scene, Thea still refuses to open the door. Has she really done something wrong?" Though Emmalie lowered her voice, her microphone still picked up her words clearly. The live chat exploded with angry comments:

“[She must have a guilty conscience to not want to open the door. Having a sister like that is just shameful.]

[Just break down the door! I've never seen a man come to confront a lover before. This is so exciting!]”

Ivy swayed on her feet. It was too late to cover this up. With Jake here and the production crew present, the best option was for Thea to come out and apologize. Then the Rowland family could punish her severely. At least this way, people would know that Thea's actions were her own and had nothing to do with the Rowland family, Ivy thought.

Having made up her mind, Ivy coldly instructed the servant behind her: "Keep knocking. If Thea doesn't open the door in five minutes, get the spare key."

Emmalie, filled with excitement, pretended to worry. "Mom, maybe we shouldn't let it go. I don't think Thea meant to do anything wrong"

Chapter 89

Ivy took a deep breath. It's always Emmalie who cares about the family's reputation, she wondered. At this point, Ivy regretted giving birth to such a disgraceful daughter. "Emmalie, this situation is getting out of hand. You should go back to your room."

Emmalie shook her head. "What are you saying, Mom? We're family. How can I just distance myself? It's okay. I can explain and apologize on behalf of Thea. Everything will be fine in the end."

Ivy was touched by Emmalie's words.

Five minutes passed quickly, but there was still no sound from Thea's room. Seeing this, Ivy directly instructed the servant to bring the spare key.
