Chapter 106

The sound of Luna retching reached him. Charles’ body froze. He spun around, glaring at Luna in panic, and shouted, “You’d better not throw up.” Luna would not listen to him right now. “Ugh…” She couldn’t hold it in any longer and vomited all over Charles.

Charles completely lost it, yelling out loud, “Aaaah—” Staring at the mess on his clothes, he shouted angrily, “Luna, you did this on purpose, didn’t you?” Charles just knew he was destined to clash with this woman. He was about to push Luna away.

But then the sound of soft sobbing made Charles pause. Luna’s shoulders trembled as she leaned against him. Charles looked at Luna, speechless, and said, “Miss, you threw up on me and you still dare to cry?” Yet, the hand trying to push Luna away eventually lowered. Charles resignedly started removing his dirty jacket, bit by bit.

Luna murmured softly, “Why are all you men such flirts? Isn’t everyone supposed to be faithful to their partners?” Her voice was very soft, filled with deep resentment. It was a stark contrast to the carefree Luna everyone knew. Charles’ hands paused mid-motion, surprised, as he looked at Luna and asked, “Did some jerk break your heart?” ‘I wonder which guy could have hurt such a carefree young lady this much,’ he thought.

With a hint of pride in his eyes, Charles joyfully said, “Seems like even a tigress needs someone to tame her.” Luna lifted her head and glared at Charles, angrily retorting, “That’s not true.” Her sudden movement startled Charles. With tears streaming down her beautiful face, if not for her angry expression, she would seem quite pitiful. Lowering her voice, she continued to mutter unclearly, “It’s all my dad’s fault, that jerk. He’s got a mistress out there, such a jerk.” Luna mumbled, falling onto Charles again.

Charles paused, but this time he didn’t push Luna away. Throwing his dirty jacket aside, he reached out to catch her before she fell to the ground. Luna continued her murmuring. “Do you know how awful he is? He won’t give my mom money, and even beats her….” Charles had seen plenty of dirty secrets among elites. Cheating was extremely common. But Luna was outgoing, even fiery. Charles had never thought such a thing would happen to Luna.

Looking down at Luna sprawled across his lap, Charles curiously asked, “Then why doesn’t your mom get a divorce?” Luna’s gaze dimmed, and she replied softly, “She didn’t get a divorce because of me. She wanted me to get a good education, to make something of myself.” The connections and wealth of the rich were beyond what regular people could compare to. That was something nobody could deny.

It didn’t matter to Luna whether Charles responded or not, and she kept murmuring, “Now she wants a divorce, but my dad won’t agree. He even wants to bring home that woman he’s been seeing.” Her voice was filled with sadness and anger. That was not what they should suffer. Her mother did so much for the White family, and yet in the end, she didn’t get any sympathy and was humiliated in this manner. Charles stayed silent, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. Luna kept talking about the unfairness her mother and she had experienced over the years. If she hadn’t drunk so much tonight, Charles might never have known that such a cheerful girl was hiding these pains.

Gradually, her words faded away as if she had fallen asleep. Just then, the driver’s voice came from the front, “Charles, where are we headed?” Charles snapped back to reality, his eyes landing on Luna as he gently shook her, “Hey, where do you live?” He had gotten in the car without asking earlier, and Charles had forgotten to inquire.

But Luna was in a deep sleep, and no matter how many times Charles asked, she didn’t respond. Plus, it wasn’t the right time to call Mr. Howerton or Isabella, who were wrapped up in their own affairs. Charles was speechless. He sighed, feeling like he had the worst luck ever for meeting this troublesome person. Resigned, Charles leaned heavily against the car seat, rubbing his aching forehead as he instructed, “Take us to Fantasy Hotel.” The driver replied respectfully, “Understood.”

The door of a luxurious presidential suite of Fantasy Hotel opened as Charles entered, carrying Luna in his arms. A big sound was made when the door was opened. At this moment, they were both a complete mess, and various smells filled Charles’ nose. He tilted his head back in disgust and shouted, “Luna, when you wake up, you better pay me back.” His car, his clothes, everything was messed up by Luna.

Charles shouted, trying to put her down, but Luna seemed bothered, her brows knit slightly. She clung firmly to Charles’ neck. Luna, with her eyes still closed, stubbornly muttered, “No.” Instead of letting go, her hold around Charles’ neck tightened. Charles’ brow twitched. He gritted his teeth and growled, waiting for Luna. “Get off me, or I’ll find someone to clean this up.” Charles thought, ‘If Luna slept like this all night, she probably would complain when she woke up and Mr. Howerton might just want to skin me alive then.’

Charles tried hard several times but couldn’t pull Luna off him. “Ugh…” Instead of peeling her off, all the effort only made Luna feel nauseated again. Charles’ scalp tingled as he shouted in panic, “Oh my God, hold it in.” He carried Luna and rushed to the bathroom. They just made it to the bathroom. “Ugh…” Luna threw up again.

Charles’ face turned pale with anger as he shouted, “Luna.” He could not curse the woman. This damn woman. If he continued to take off any more clothes, he would have nothing on. “Ugh…” Charles couldn’t help but dry heave a few times, his eyes reddening. He cursed her a thousand times in his heart. But Luna was so drunk that she couldn’t feel a thing. Charles quickly turned on the shower, drenching both of them with water. The unpleasant smell in the air was instantly washed away by the water.

With her eyes closed, Luna struggled uncomfortably, “You bully picking on me like this.” Charles furrowed his brow and asked, “Who’s the real bully here?” If Luna hadn’t been drunk, Charles would definitely confront her. After being tossed into the tub, Luna finally quieted down, rolled over, rested her head on the edge, and fell into a deep sleep.

Charles pinched the bridge of his nose, unable to say a word. What a hassle. He took off his soaked shirt, picked up a neatly folded robe from the shelf, put it on, and then walked out of the bathroom. In the living room, Charles dialed the hotel front desk. “Could you send a couple of women up to help my friend?” he asked.

The receptionist was surprised. She instinctively thought it was a request for inappropriate services. With a professional smile, she replied, “Sir, we don’t provide services of that kind here.” Charles was on the verge of losing his temper and shouted, “My female friend is drunk. I need you to send some people to help her change clothes.” Damn it. What kind of people they were. They might think Charles was here for shady activities. He was not that desperate yet. Realizing her mistake, the receptionist quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, sir. I’ll arrange it right away.”
