Laura's words snapped Dakota from her thoughts. "Ms. Jennings, I apologize for being abrupt. Let's discuss the cooperation," she said.

Dakota looked at Laura, her eyes flickering gently. "Okay, Ms. Jones."

"Ms. Jennings, you've seen the project details. The Jones family will provide personnel when needed. If you have no objections, I'll get the contract," Laura said, smiling.

Dakota fell silent.

Laura's ice-like eyes fixed on Dakota. "What's wrong, Ms. Jennings? Any objections?"

"It's not that, Ms. Jones. It's just…" Dakota hesitated, biting her lip.

Laura chuckled. "Ask any questions. No need to be restrained."

Dakota wanted to ask about Laura and Cameron's relationship, but decided against it. Instead, she said, "I feel my abilities might be insufficient, and I might hold back the Jones family."

Laura said confidently, "Don't worry, Ms. Jennings. I believe in your abilities. My judgment is always sound." She was confident in her judgment, as she had been with Cameron and now felt with Dakota.

"Good," Laura nodded. "Let's hope for a pleasant cooperation."

Laura took a contract from her Hermès bag. As she did, a photograph slipped out and fell to the ground.

Dakota immediately noticed it. The photo showed a man and a woman in an amusement park. Only the man's back was visible; the woman, holding an ice cream cone, reached toward him. Dakota recognized Laura's side profile. Laura's face was radiant with a happy smile—a stark contrast to her usual aloofness. She looked like any girl in love.

Had she been in love? Dakota was shocked. This Laura was so different from the woman she knew. Before seeing the photo, she wouldn't have believed it possible.

Laura, noticing Dakota's shock, looked down. A flash of panic crossed her face as she picked up the photo.

Cameron, seeing Laura's fluster, also looked over curiously. Though he only glimpsed the photo, he recognized it instantly. It was from seven years ago, a picture taken at an amusement park, a moment of fun between him and Laura. A photographer had given them the print as a souvenir.
