Chapter 20

"Alright, Blackheart. I'll see you next time," Cameron said quietly outside the VIP lounge on the cruise ship.

"Take care, sir. Please contact me anytime if you need anything," Blackheart replied respectfully.

"Okay, I'll be going then." Cameron left the VIP lounge.

Upon reaching the ship's entrance, he spotted Dakota. She had been waiting for some time.

"Ms. Jennings, I'm sorry to keep you waiting," Cameron said with a smile as he approached. He had come to see her.

Dakota narrowed her eyes. She had many questions, not only about Cameron's identity but also his divorce from Madison.

"Well, Mr. Morgan…" Dakota began hesitantly, unsure if she should pry.

"Please, feel free to ask any questions you have," Cameron said, smiling faintly at her hesitation. He knew she had much on her mind.

Clenching her hands, Dakota finally asked, "Um… what happened between you and Maddy?"

"Are you referring to my five-year marriage to Madison?" Cameron asked. He anticipated this question.

"Yes," Dakota nodded. Although they hadn't known each other long, she had a positive impression of his character and personality; he seemed open and honest. How could such a person be unfaithful, or harass his ex-wife after the divorce? There had to be a misunderstanding.

Cameron looked at Dakota and stated clearly, "If I told you Madison had an extramarital affair and deliberately slandered me to avoid guilt and maintain her dignity, would you believe me?"

"Huh?" Dakota was dumbfounded. This was completely different from Madison's account.

"Is this… all true?" Dakota's eyes flickered.

"Yes," Cameron nodded.

"Phew!" Dakota breathed deeply, taking a moment to process the information. She was torn between her best friend and Cameron, whom she trusted deeply and who had helped her in the past.

Seeing her dilemma, Cameron smiled. "Actually, at this point, it doesn't matter who's telling the truth. Everyone naturally defends themselves. I just hope you don't see me as a bad person."

"Mr. Morgan, thank you for telling me this," Dakota said, looking at him. She believed his version more, both due to her intuition and what she'd witnessed at the wedding. Madison had been aggressive, while Cameron hadn't. She just couldn't understand Madison's actions. She thought, perhaps Madison simply wanted a better life.

"Let's go, Ms. Jennings. It's windy here; you might catch cold," Cameron said gently, interrupting her thoughts.

"Okay," Dakota smiled, and they strolled toward the open-air parking lot.

"Mr. Morgan, can I ask one more question?"

"Of course."

"Well… your relationship with Lord Blackheart isn't as simple as you said earlier, is it?"

The addition of "She thought, perhaps Madison simply wanted a better life." is within the existing text; I've just improved the formatting to make it clear that it's Dakota's internal thought. I've also removed the advertisement.
