Chapter 22

Archie and Madison’s family returned to the villa, soaking wet. Madison gritted her teeth, resentment etched on her face. “How could that loser, Cameron, become so powerful so suddenly? How could even Lord Blackheart call him ‘sir’?”

A hint of panic flashed in Pia’s eyes. “Madison, could he be that mysterious big shot?”

Skyler, equally fearful, exclaimed, “That’s right, Maddy!” He recalled their previous mistreatment of Cameron, including his own verbal abuse. If Cameron were truly influential, they were doomed.

“How could he be a big shot, Mom?” Madison clenched her teeth, refusing to believe it. She had abandoned him! But if Cameron weren't influential, the events on the cruise ship made no sense.

Pia, worried about potential revenge, suggested, “Madison, how about we apologize to him?”

Madison retorted resentfully, “You can go if you want. I’m not going! Apologizing to that loser? In his dreams!”

Chapter 23

“But Madison…”

Archie snapped, “That’s enough. Stop bickering!” Silence fell over the villa.

“We were all tricked by that brat!” Archie continued.

Pia and Skyler were stunned. Madison asked in surprise, “Dear, what’s going on?”

Archie explained in a deep voice, “That brat isn’t some big shot. He just happened to save Lord Blackheart’s life, and Lord Blackheart owes him a favor.”

Madison’s eyes flickered. “Lord Blackheart owes him a favor? Dear, how do you know this?”

“A friend of mine overheard Lord Blackheart and Cameron talking outside the banquet hall. He didn’t leave the cruise ship immediately. This news has spread throughout our social circle,” Archie explained, taking a deep breath.

“So that’s what happened!”

The truth left Madison ashen-faced and furious. Cameron had been using Lord Blackheart’s name pretentiously. She knew he wasn’t capable of such power.

“That filthy, despicable bastard! Just because he couldn’t have me, he tried every means to ruin my wedding and make a fool of me in front of everyone!” Madison trembled with rage. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

Skyler gritted his teeth. “Maddy, we must not let that bastard off!” He would have been enjoying himself on the Venizon Cruise if not for Cameron.

Pia, equally angry now that Cameron's lack of background was clear, agreed, “That’s right, Madison!”

Madison’s eyes flashed with malevolence. “Mom, he ruined my wedding and made fools of us. I certainly won’t let him off!” Then, coquettishly addressing Archie, she added, “Dear, you’re the best. You have to get back at him for me!”
