Chapter 280
The scene immediately spiraled out of control. Screams erupted. Kelvin, a madman, had actually brought a gun. Tara stared at the handgun in his hand, her heart racing, her mind going blank.
Lena paled and stood up, but she was too far away to reach Kelvin in time. She could only try to stop him verbally. "Kelvin! What are you doing? Put the gun down!"
Kelvin ignored her, his face ferocious as he glared at Cameron. "Kid, kneel and beg, or I'll kill you."
Cameron simply smiled. "Then pull the trigger." There was no fear in his eyes.
Lena gritted her teeth. "This idiot! He's provoking him!"
Kelvin, surprised, stared at Cameron. "Kid, aren't you afraid of death?"
"Of course," Cameron replied calmly, "but what's the point of pointing an empty gun?"
Kelvin's eyes flickered. His expression grew even fiercer. "Do you think you're smart?"
"Then pull the trigger," Cameron repeated, smiling faintly.
Everyone was stunned by his audacity. Was he brave or stupid? The gun was clearly real.
Lena was frustrated. She wanted to run to the stage but feared provoking Kelvin into shooting.
Tara's eyes trembled. She finally reacted, her face pale. "Mr. Zimmer, please calm down!"
"Calm down? How can I?" Kelvin's agitation increased at the sight of Tara pleading for Cameron. He touched his chest. "Tara, what's so special about that kid? Why are you with him? You're the woman I want!"
"Mr. Zimmer, I—"
Cameron interrupted. "Tara, don't waste your time. You're free to choose. And you, Mr. Zimmer, I've been waiting. Hurry up and shoot!"
Kelvin grimaced, looking at Tara. "Tara, you heard him—he told me to shoot—"
Cameron interrupted again. "If you're going to shoot, do it. Enough nonsense."
"Great! You've done it!" Kelvin was enraged. He smirked, scanning the crowd. "You all heard him! He told me to shoot! Since he's so eager to die, I'll grant his wish!"
He turned back to Cameron, slowly squeezing the trigger. Everyone held their breath, their faces pale. Many covered their eyes.
"Kelvin, stop!" Lena shouted, rushing onto the stage, despite the distance and the danger.
"Go to hell!"
