Chapter 291

Max turned pale, his body trembling with fear. He wanted to tell the truth, but feared the consequences.

"You'd better think it through before answering," Cameron's cold voice startled Max, causing him to tremble even more violently. He looked into Cameron's quiet, deep eyes. He couldn't discern much emotion, but the chill in them seemed capable of shattering his soul.

"I I don't know" Max lied. The forces behind the conspiracy were far more terrifying than Cameron. Confessing would likely result in a fate worse than death.

"You don't know?" Cameron stared at Max, his eyes brimming with murderous intent.

Just then, Lord Blackheart's phone vibrated. He read a message and whispered to Cameron, "Sir, Dr. Smith is in trouble She's about to"

"What?" Cameron's expression changed. "Damn it!" He took a deep breath. "That bastard Kelvin is seeking death!"

"Blackheart, lead a team to rescue Dr. Smith. Charles, take a few people with me. The rest remain here until we return," Cameron ordered.

"Yes, Mr. Morgan!" the Black Flag Army responded instantly.

"I'll deal with you all later!" Cameron glared coldly at the Zimmers before leading a squad of the Black Flag Army away.

After Cameron and Lord Blackheart left, the Zimmers' tension eased. They looked at each other, drenched in sweat. They didn't understand Cameron's sudden withdrawal, but soon realized the Black Flag Army hadn't fully evacuated. Only Cameron and Lord Blackheart had temporarily departed with a squad. The Zimmers guessed they had an urgent matter, giving the Zimmers a reprieve.

"Mr. Zimmer Senior, what should we do now?" The Zimmers looked pale and their voices trembled. They feared death.

"Dad, when they return, we'll be dead" Chad’s voice was barely a whisper.

"Chad's right. Dad, the Black Flag Army is still here. We can't escape" Duncan was terrified.

"You're all useless trash! Aren't you ashamed to be so easily frightened?" Max, having recovered, showed resentment towards the terrified Zimmers.

"But that man even Lord Blackheart respects him."

"So what?" Max snorted angrily. "Don't forget we have General Tucker's support!"

"Oh, that's right! How could we forget?"

His words pulled the Zimmers from despair. In danger, Roger wouldn't stand idly by.

"Juliet, Roger is your brother. It's easier for you to ask for his help. You must help us now!" Max urged.

"Don't worry, Dad. The Zimmers are my family. Chad is my husband. I won't abandon them!" Juliet Tucker nodded confidently. "I'll call Roger!"

"Thank you, Juliet! I'll never forget your kindness." Max wept with gratitude. With Roger's help, Cameron would fall.

Lord Blackheart was the world's richest man with vast resources. But this was Andura. In this country, military power reigned supreme. That's why the Jones family, the wealthiest in Leving, sought to marry Laura to the Xanders—the Xanders held absolute sway over the Leving Military Region.
