Chapter 295
Screams echoed through the room. Kelvin turned pale, his body twitching violently. Tara was startled by the scene.
"You're so noisy!" Cameron's eyes were sharp. He kicked Kelvin's chest with such force that bones cracked. Kelvin groaned, severe pain wracking his body, causing him to tremble. Shockingly, he couldn't speak, managing only hoarse sounds after struggling.
"Punk what did you do to me?" Horror etched his face as sweat poured down his forehead. Cameron's expression was cold; he wanted to kill Kelvin.
Sensing Cameron's murderous intent, Kelvin, despite the agony, hoarsely shouted, "If you kill me, Tara's grandfather will die!"
"Is that so?" Cameron smirked.
His phone rang—Lord Blackheart.
"Sir, we've successfully rescued Mr. Smith and sent him to the General Hospital."
"Got it. I'll be there soon."
Cameron hung up, his gaze hardening, terrifying Kelvin. Kelvin's pupils constricted; he felt his skull might explode.
He croaked, "Y-you can't kill me!"
"What a pity, Mr. Kelvin. I've found the hostage. So, enjoy this!" Cameron sneered, kicking Kelvin's crotch hard. A muffled sound; Kelvin's pants were stained with blood. He fainted amidst a sharp, hoarse howl.
Tara, trembling, covered her mouth, staring at the blood. "Cameron, you crippled him The Zimmers won't let you go."
He smiled. "Don't worry. Nothing will happen."
"Really?" Tara doubted him, believing he was comforting her. Kelvin was Max's favorite grandson, the future heir of the Zimmer Group. Cameron's kick was tantamount to ruining Max's future, incurring the Zimmers' wrath.
He smiled confidently. "Yes."
Tara's worry eased at his confidence.
"Sorry for bringing you trouble again" she blamed herself, believing Cameron's predicament was because of her.
"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault," he softly comforted her. "Alright, Dr. Smith, cheer up. You need to see your grandfather at the hospital. You wouldn't want to show him your weak side, right?"
"My grandfather?" Tara perked up at the news. "Did you rescue my grandfather?"
He smiled slightly. "Yes. Let's go."
He removed his coat and gently placed it on her. Moved, she stared blankly.
"Dr. Smith, let's go," he said softly, turning.
She nodded, inexplicably relieved by the warmth and faint masculine scent of his coat. Holding it tightly, she wiped her tears and followed him.
