Listen to this chapter:

Macro checked Stefiโ€™s temperature and, sure enough, it was a little high. โ€œWhatโ€™s up with you two siblings? Drinking is one thing, but why do you always end up with a fever?โ€

As he spoke, he retrieved a pill from the medical kit and handed it to Sebastian. Sebastian didnโ€™t take it. Instead, he shot Macro a cold glance.

Meeting his icy gaze, Macro instinctively swallowed. โ€œWโ€“Whatโ€™s wrong?โ€

Sebastianโ€™s voice was low. โ€œSiblings?โ€

Macro didnโ€™t know where he was going wrong. Wait, what now? Wasnโ€™t that the case? His brain momentarily froze.

Sebastian finally took the pill from his hand. โ€œIf you donโ€™t know how to talk, then donโ€™t talk. Unless you want your mouth sewn shut.โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t even say anything wrong?โ€ Had he? Every time those two drank, they ended up with a fever. It was always a hassle. Macro was completely baffled.

Sebastian shot him another frosty glance. โ€œAlright, alright! I wonโ€™t say another word!โ€ Macro quickly zipped his mouth shut. Seriously, he had no clue which sentence had triggered this guy.

โ€œOh, right. That woman, Catlin, sheโ€™s still hanging around. Been trying to find a way to see Stefi.โ€ The moment he said that, another icy glare landed on him.

Macro groaned. โ€œWhat now?โ€ He was going insane. Did he need to analyze every single word before speaking to this guy?

Ignoring him, Sebastian turned back to Stefi, placing the pill in her mouth and feeding her some water.

โ€œYou donโ€™t have a sister?โ€ Sister? Come on. โ€œYou call that a sister? More like a lump of coal.โ€

Last time he saw Luca, she was so tanned it was almost unbearable to look at. โ€œHey, but you know, she and Sofia really are a match made in heaven. The way theyโ€™ve competed all these years, their habits are practically identical.โ€

Except for one thingโ€”his sister was fiery and loved wearing dresses. Sofia, on the other hand, was the definition of a tomboy.

Sebastian remarked coolly, โ€œIf Luca hears this, youโ€™ll be beaten to a pulp.โ€

Macro shrugged. โ€œNot if you donโ€™t tell her. I doubt youโ€™re the type to gossip.โ€

Speaking of Luca, Macro sighed in frustration. Other peopleโ€™s little sisters were sweet and adorable. His? A full-time menace who had been chasing him around with her fists since they were kids. She was useless at everything except fighting, in which she was an undisputed champion.

Back in school, their parents had given up on dealing with her. He, on the other hand, had been forced to clean up her messes twice after she got into fights. Macro could still remember the time her teacher had yelled at him, pointing right at his nose!

โ€œYou can leave now,โ€ Sebastian said, seeing that Macro showed no sign of leaving.

Macro quickly packed up his things. He was starving and needed to find something to eat. โ€œYou sure you donโ€™t want someone to deal with that woman?โ€

Catlin had been waiting since the afternoon and still hadnโ€™t left. Sebastianโ€™s eyes darkened slightly at the mention of Stefiโ€™s mother. โ€œDeal with her? Let her wait.โ€

Waiting was the cruelest torture, especially with the current mess at the Hart familyโ€”there was no doubt that the entire Hart Group was in chaos right now.

Macro nodded. โ€œGot it. So, are you coming to eat?โ€ Stefi was in no condition to eat, that was for sure.

Sebastian said, โ€œYou go first.โ€ Sebastian glanced at her flushed little face. He would wait until her fever went down first.

Macro didnโ€™t press further. He grabbed his things and left. Now, only Sebastian and Stefi remained in the room. The man reached out and gently touched her burning cheek once again.

Stefiโ€™s eyelids fluttered open, her gaze hazy. โ€œSebastianโ€ฆโ€ A ripple spread through his chest. He had never realized before what it would feel like to hear his name spoken so intimately from her lips.
