Just as Sebastian had expected, the Hart family was in complete chaos. Liang Panming called Catlin Hart twice more, both times asking if she had seen Stephanie Giovanni. Chad called Catlin twice, asking if she had seen Stephanie. He even tried calling Stephanie himself, but, of course, the call didn’t go through—she had long since blocked him.
Originally, Catlin had planned to return home if she couldn’t find Stephanie. She wasn’t comfortable leaving Olivia alone at the hospital. But Chad kept calling over and over again, and she finally lost her patience! Now, she was causing a scene in the lobby of the estate, arguing with the receptionist. “I want to see my daughter! Why won’t you give me her information?” She kept asking the receptionist for information about Stephanie Giovanni’s stay there.
Yet, two whole hours passed, and the receptionist refused to provide anything. This pushed Catlin over the edge. That wretched girl—was she really trying to ruin the Hart family? An ungrateful brat! If she had known how disloyal Stephanie would turn out to be, she never would have brought her back in the first place. The more Catlin thought about it, the angrier she became!
Even the receptionist was starting to lose patience. “Mrs. Hart, if I’m not mistaken, didn’t you announce a few days ago that you had severed ties with Miss Giovanni?” Catlin froze. She sucked in a sharp breath, and fury flared in her eyes. “What does that have to do with you?”
“In that case, you no longer have the right to access Miss Giovanni’s personal information.” Catlin couldn’t say anything. “In other words, you’re not in any position to inquire about her whereabouts.” Just two simple sentences from the receptionist, and Catlin was so livid she nearly fainted. “You—you—”
Despite her rage, she had to admit the receptionist was right. This digital age was terrifying. The slightest bit of news could spread so far, so quickly. Catlin’s breathing turned erratic. Before she could say anything else, her phone rang—it was Olivia.
“Olivia.” A pitiful voice came through the phone. Catlin softened slightly. “I asked Lucy to bring you food, and the nurses are there to take care of you.” “But I miss you…” “I know, honey. I just need to take care of something, and then I’ll be right back. Be good, okay?” She coaxed Olivia gently, though her resentment toward Stephanie only grew. This was all her fault. She had caused so much trouble for the Hart family, throwing everyone’s lives into turmoil. She had wanted to cut ties—fine! But what else did she want?
After reassuring Olivia for a couple more minutes, she ended the call. The moment she hung up, Chad’s call came through. “Did you find Stefi?” “She refuses to see me,” Catlin snapped. That wretched girl—she was still her daughter! Yet, seeing her felt as impossible as meeting the president. “Why don’t you come look for her yourself?” She had exhausted every possible method all afternoon.
Chad was already furious, and now, hearing Catlin’s words, his temper flared. “You’re the one who messed this up—why should I clean up your mess?” Catlin froze. Was this all on her? Was Stephanie only her daughter? Before she could argue, Chad had already hung up! Hearing the beeping tone on the other end, Catlin was livid.
With no way to reach Stephanie, she called Chris instead. When she learned he was still at Mount Spring, she immediately rushed over. Chris frowned the moment she mentioned Stephanie. Sensing his displeasure, Keyin stepped forward. “Mrs. Hart, Mr. Ashford can’t see Miss Giovanni either.” “What?” Even Chris couldn’t reach her?
Kevin explained, “Ever since the broken engagement, Miss Giovanni blocked him. None of us can get through to her anymore.” “She also moved. She’s nearly impossible to track down.” The only time they saw her was when she visited her studio, but even that had become rare.
