Chapter 239

Sebastian let out a helpless chuckle. He reached out, pinching her chin lightly and tilting her face up. Sure enough, he caught sight of the tears clinging to her lashes. Meeting her misty eyes, something stirred deep in his gaze. โ€œWhatโ€™s this? Feeling wronged now?โ€

Stephanie huffed. โ€œNo, Iโ€™m not!โ€ She wouldnโ€™t admit it! Yet, the moment she spoke, her voice carried a thick nasal tone, betraying her emotions completely. That voiceโ€ฆ she definitely sounded like she was about to cry.

Seeing her looking so pitiful, Sebastian chuckled. โ€œYou really donโ€™t remember?โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€ Stephanie blinked up at him, confusion filling her teary eyes. What was she supposed to remember?

Sebastian took her hand and pressed it lightly against his lip. โ€œThis,โ€ he murmured, โ€œyou bit me.โ€

Stephanie was too shocked to react. What? She bit him?

โ€œYou really donโ€™t remember?โ€ Stephanieโ€™s mind buzzed, and her face instantly turned bright red. Waitโ€”she really didnโ€™t remember! Did she bite him?

โ€œI didnโ€™t!โ€ She instinctively denied it. Did she really do it? But she had no memory of it at all. Was Sebastian messing with her?

Sebastian pinched her small mouth. Unable to hold back, Stephanie opened her mouth in protest. โ€œMmphโ€”what are you doing?โ€

Sebastian smirked. โ€œLet me check which little sharp tooth did it.โ€

โ€œUghโ€”โ€ Stephanie quickly struggled free and clamped her mouth shut. She looked at Sebastian in disbelief. โ€œIโ€”It was really me?โ€

โ€œWho else would it be?โ€

Seriously? Who else could it be? How would she know? She hadnโ€™t been around Sebastian for years, only occasionally catching bits of news about himโ€”mostly about his business ventures in Fiorenza. As for rumors about his personal life, no one dared to gossip recklessly.

Stephanie swallowed hard, her face burning even redder.

Sebastian stopped teasing her. โ€œCome on, letโ€™s eat.โ€ He didnโ€™t say much.

And Stephanie didnโ€™t dare bring it up again.

The air on Mount Spring was refreshingly crisp. Sebastian took her straight to the restaurant. At this hour, only late-night snacks were available, but since Stephanie wanted to eat, Sebastian naturally had something prepared. By now, the restaurant was empty.

Stephanie stole a careful glance at Sebastian, her eyes drifting to the injury on his lips. She couldnโ€™t help but wonderโ€”what exactly had she done? Did she just bite him? Wait. Did she actuallyโ€ฆ force herself on him?! The thought made Stephanie study Sebastianโ€™s expression even more intently.

โ€œWhat are you looking at?โ€ Sebastianโ€™s voice pulled her back to reality.

Stephanie rubbed her hands together nervously. โ€œSeeing if youโ€™re mad.โ€ What had she done? She had completely ruined their sibling dynamic! She had hidden her feelings for Sebastian so well all these years, but nowโ€ฆ there was no hiding it anymore! Stephanie mentally smacked herself a hundred times over.

Sebastian took a sip of water. โ€œDo you think I should be mad?โ€ His deep voice was unreadable.

Stephanieโ€™s mind was in chaos. โ€œWell, Iโ€ฆ I didnโ€™t do it on purposeโ€ฆ I meanโ€ฆโ€ She trailed off, suddenly noticing the hint of coldness in Sebastianโ€™s eyes. She immediately shut up. What did she say wrong? She just wanted to cry. โ€œI really didnโ€™t mean toโ€ฆโ€

Sebastian let out a low chuckle, setting down his glass. โ€œSo, what does Stefi plan to do about this?โ€

Stephanie froze. Waitโ€”was he implying that she didnโ€™t just bite himโ€ฆ but actually kissed him?! What theโ€”How did drinking a little alcohol lead to this?! The things she never dared to do beforeโ€ฆ she actually just did? Noโ€”thisโ€ฆ

Facing Sebastianโ€™s deep, unreadable gaze, Stephanieโ€™s brain turned to mush. She couldnโ€™t make sense of the emotions flickering in his eyes. Panicked, she looked down.

โ€œThenโ€ฆ what do you think I should do?โ€ Ugh. Their pure relationshipโ€ฆ it was totally ruined now.
