Chapter 241
It wasnโt like he was wrongโevery time, it was just a fever, but the guyโs mind stayed sharp as ever. Unfortunately, Stephanie picked this moment to ask, โHe what?โ Her expression was so innocent and clueless, while Sebastianโs glare was downright murderous. Macro suddenly had the terrifying realization that if he dared to say another word, he might leave this place with broken legs.
โNothing. Justโฆuse that brain of yours that earned you two million.โ As soon as he said that, something felt off. Stephanie frowned.
โYouโre the one with no brains.โ
โYep, I have no brains.โ
Admitting it was better than getting his legs broken. Oof, it hurt. Sebastian was really out to cripple him, wasnโt he? Macro felt his legs hurt badly.
The men then shifted to discussing business, talking about commercial matters. Occasionally, their conversation would touch on arms or the major families in Fiorenza. Stephanie stayed by Sebastianโs side, quietly eating her food. As he talked, he would occasionally pick up dishes and place them in her bowl. She was generally well-behaved during dinner, finishing almost everything Sebastian served her.
As the meal was nearing its end, there was suddenly a commotion outside. Catlin complained unhappily, โHow can you blame everything on me? Arenโt you her father too?โ Stephanie subconsciously glanced at the door. She saw a group of people enteringโCatlin, Chad, Chris, and Kevin. Chrisโs face also didnโt look good.
Chad said, โIโve been busy with the company; shouldnโt you be handling things at home?โ
Catlin replied, โIโve been handling it, and every time it concerns her, Iโve reported it to you. You didnโt have any objections, did you?โ
When it came to Stephanie, both Chad and Catlin were immediately filled with frustration. Chad sighed.
โSo, what do you think we should do now? Her phone isnโt going through, and Chris has already said sheโs involved with the Lucano familyโฆโ
Chadโs gaze suddenly landed on Stephanie, and his sentence abruptly stopped. Stephanie? Stephanie had already shifted her gaze away, not giving him any extra attention.
โStebi?โ Chad instinctively called her name. Catlin followed Chadโs gaze and saw Stephanie right away. Chris also noticed Stephanie. Seeing her sitting right next to Sebastian, he suddenly felt as if a wad of cotton had been stuffed into his chest, and his hands instinctively clenched into fists.
Chad stepped forward. โStefi, heyโฆโ Sebastian gave Elliot a look, and Elliot immediately stood up to block Chad. Sebastian lowered his gaze to look at Stephanie, his tone soft. โAre you done eating?โ
Stephanie nodded. โMm.โ
โThen letโs go.โ Chad was stopped by Elliot, and he became flustered. He instinctively called out to Stephanie. โStefi, I need to talk to you.โ Sebastian had already taken Stephanieโs hand, and neither of them spared Chad a second glance.
Chris had been searching for Sebastian. Now that he found him, he instinctively stepped forward and said, โMr. Giovanni, we need to talk.โ Chris was currently trying to suppress his anger over Stephanie. Especially when he saw the hand that Sebastian was holdingโhis eyes darkened for a moment before quickly pushing it down. Sebastian shot Chris a cold glare. When their eyes met, Chris caught a glimpse of a chilling glint in Sebastianโs eyes. His breathing just stopped for a moment.
Sebastian let out a cold laugh and glanced at Stephanie beside him. โStefi, are you tired?โ
โMm.โ Stephanie nodded like a little chick pecking for food. Chrisโs breath quickened as he glanced at Stephanie. What did that mean? The next moment, he heard Sebastian say, โLetโs go. Itโs time to rest.โ
Rest? Chris paused for a moment. What did business have to do with whether Stephanie was tired or not? Come on! Chad was equally shocked by Sebastianโs actions, and Catlin, of course, was no different. Who would have thought that Stephanie, once casually suppressed by them, would now cause them such losses with just a single word?
