Chapter 247

Chris closed his eyes briefly, his hands clenching into fists as his entire body trembled with rage. As soon as Sebastian entered the building, he slammed the door shut, leaving Elliot outside. If Elliot hadnโ€™t dodged fast enough, the door would have smacked him right in the face.

Lorenzo walked over. โ€œShould we call Marco?โ€

Elliot stiffened. He recalled the spiked drink Sebastian had earlier and quickly pulled out his phone to call Marco. But then he hesitated, thinking about how Sebastian had just shut the door in his face.

What was that supposed to mean? Elliot turned to Lorenzo. โ€œShouldnโ€™t we ask him first?โ€

Lorenzo was speechless. โ€œYou really think we need to ask? Do you honestly believe he can handle this? That damn Lancelot actually dared to drug himโ€”serves him right for losing his most trusted man tonight!โ€

Lorenzo gritted his teeth. Sebastian had been drugged. It wasnโ€™t the first time something like this had happened, but Marco had always been around in the past.

Elliot thought for a moment before dialing Sebastianโ€™s number. The moment the call connected, Elliot quickly asked, โ€œSir, do you want me to call Marco?โ€

โ€œGet lost.โ€

Elliot was taken aback and couldnโ€™t say a word. What theโ€” Before he could say anything else, the call was cut off.

Lorenzo looked at him. โ€œWhat did he say?โ€

Elliot said, โ€œHe told me to get lost.โ€

Lorenzoโ€™s mouth twitched. โ€œYou really think he can handle it? This isnโ€™t something to mess around with.โ€ That drug was no joke.

Before Lorenzo could say anything more, Elliot turned and walked offโ€”so fast it practically looked like he was getting lost.

Lorenzo stood there. โ€œCan Stefiโ€™s black coffee really fix this?โ€

Seeing how Elliot just left without a word, Lorenzo felt uneasy. After a moment of hesitation, he pulled out his phone and called Marco.

Upstairs, Stephanie was sleeping groggily, but she could feel a pair of intense, beast-like eyes watching her in the darkness. The gaze was too scorching, making her restless even in her sleep.

Drowsily, she opened her eyes and saw Sebastian sitting by her bed. Under the dim lighting, his gaze was dark and unfathomable, carrying a dangerous edge.

Stephanie instantly snapped awake and sat up in bed. โ€œSebastian, whatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Why wasnโ€™t he sleeping in the middle of the night and instead sitting at her bedside? And what was with that look in his eyes?

She crawled toward him and reached out to touch his forehead. It was burning hot. Even his skin felt alarmingly warm. They were so close that she could clearly smell the mixture of blood and alcohol on him.

โ€œSebastian, where did you go drinking again? Andโ€ฆ are you hurt?โ€ Smelling the thick scent of blood, Stephanie felt a pang of panic, her eyes flashing with worry. She quickly reached for the bedside lamp. But just as she turned, before she could touch the switch, a strong hand gripped her waist.

Before she could react, she was pushed down onto the bed. โ€œSebโ€ฆโ€ She gasped in surprise. Instinctively, she tried to get up, but the next second, the man loomed over her. She was wearing a silk nightgownโ€”thin and lightโ€”and the moment Sebastianโ€™s burning chest pressed against her back, she felt just how feverish he was. Not to mention the solid firmness of his muscles.

Stephanieโ€™s mind momentarily short-circuited. โ€œWhatโ€ฆ What are you doing?โ€ No, this wasnโ€™t just alcohol. She suddenly remembered how, two years ago, she had been drugged by Olivia, and her body had felt just like this.

โ€œIโ€™ll call Marco right away.โ€ Panic surged through her. She stammered as she struggled to flip over and reach for her phone.

But just as she turned, his burning-hot palm cupped her face. Then, a forceful kiss crashed down on her lips. His breath was scalding. Even his lips were terrifyingly hot.

Stephanieโ€™s eyes widened in shock, her breath hitching. โ€œSebastian, snap out of it! Getโ€”get a hold of yourselfโ€”โ€ Her words were swallowed whole by the man. It wasnโ€™t just Sebastianโ€™s reason that drowned, but Stephanieโ€™s too. Hers was on the verge of collapse as well.
