Chapter 248

Stephanie liked Sebastian very much. She didnโ€™t know when her feelings for him had changed from mere sibling affection. It was something that had built up over the years, so deeply ingrained that it had become a part of her. Facing Sebastianโ€™s slightly unfocused gaze, Stephanieโ€™s heart trembled.

โ€œSebastianโ€ฆโ€

Oh no. If he were sober, she could stillโ€”

But he wasnโ€™t sober. And every time he got drunk, he never remembered anything the next day. If things really went that way now, even if he was the one initiating it, she would still feel like she was taking advantage of him.

โ€œIโ€™m not a saint, okay? You need to wake up. Stop.โ€

Stephanie whimpered. But in the next moment, the man effortlessly pinned her hands above her head. As her nightgown was pushed up, a chill ran through Stephanieโ€™s body, freezing her blood in place. She grabbed onto his strong wrist. โ€œSebastian!โ€ Yet the next second, he turned his hand, firmly locking hers in place, leaving her completely defenseless.

The roomโ€™s temperature rose, mirroring the searing heat radiating from Sebastianโ€™s skin. Desire thickened in the air. Stephanieโ€™s breathing quickened.

โ€œStefi, be good,โ€ the man murmured in a husky, low voice. The moment she heard that familiar nickname, her mind went blank. He knew. He knew who he was kissing?

Stephanieโ€™s dazed eyes locked onto Sebastianโ€™s striking featuresโ€”the only face she had ever found truly beautiful since childhood, incomparable to anyone else.

โ€œSebastian.โ€

And in that instant, all reason shattered. Sebastian traced her cheek with his fingers, his touch lingering.

โ€œGood girl.โ€

His drunken gaze gleamed like a man who had just found his most treasured possession. Heat intertwined in the air, his tender yet burning gaze dissolving the last shred of Stephanieโ€™s self-restraint.

She glanced down at her arms and chewed her lip. Bruises everywhere. The deep purple and textured red were undeniable evidence of last nightโ€™s indiscretion. She let out a long breath.

Crap. What had she done?

Then her gaze shifted to the gray scarf tangled beneath them. That was Selvadianโ€™s scarf. And the fresh red stain on it sent her nerves into overdrive. Stephanie covered her face, โ€œOh no, oh no, oh no.โ€ Her voice was completely panicked. The passion had faded, leaving only a frantic sense of panic. What now!

BZZZ WZZZ

Her phone vibrated. Stephanie glanced at the screen. It was Macro. She looked at Sebastian, still fast asleep, then grabbed her phone and rushed into the bathroom to answer, โ€œMacro?โ€

On the other end, Macroโ€™s exasperated voice blasted through. โ€œAre you guys dead or what? Iโ€™ve been ringing the doorbell like crazy! Howโ€™s your brother?โ€

Embarrassed and panicking, Stephanie hadnโ€™t expected the trouble to come so soon. How was he? She stared at her reflection in the mirror, her neck covered in unmistakable marks. Yeah. She had reallyโ€ฆdone it. What now? What now?

โ€œStefi, Stefi?โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m asking you how your brother is. Lorenzo said someone drugged him.โ€

Stephanie choked. So it was drugged after all. Drinking alone could already leave him in a haze, but if he was drugged, then there was no way heโ€™d remember anything. A complicated emotion twisted inside her. If he forgot everythingโ€ฆwas that a good thing? Or a bad thing? Either way, her world was in shambles.

โ€œHeโ€™s fine,โ€ she blurted. โ€œI found some medicine and gave it to him.โ€

Chapter 248

Stephanie quickly made up a lie in response to Macroโ€™s worried voice. Macro sounded skeptical. โ€œMedicine? What medicine?โ€

How could anyone get this kind of medicine so easily? Stephanie hesitated. โ€œJustโ€ฆfound it in the first-aid kit.โ€
