Chapter 251

โ€œAlright, Iโ€™m just the extra wheel here,โ€ he thought, and with that, he picked up his things and left.

Seeing Macro leave, the weight on Stephanieโ€™s heart finally lifted. However, as if on cue, Macro turned back to look at Sebastian. โ€œAre you feeling anything else?โ€

Stephanie stiffened for a moment, feeling the weight return. She now had an urge to wrench Marcoโ€™s head off.

โ€œWhat else could he be feeling? I already told you he took the medicine.โ€ Her tone was harsh, as if she would really go up and hit Macro if he said another word.

Macro protested, โ€œNo, as a doctor, I canโ€™t ask about his condition? Thatโ€™s no ordinary medicine. It could have side effects. Whatโ€™s wrong with me asking?โ€

Stephanie was speechless. It wasnโ€™t just asking; the implication in his tone was just too obvious.

Macro looked at Stephanie, his gaze settling on the scarf around her neck. โ€œListenโ€ฆโ€

โ€œMarco.โ€ Sebastian interrupted coldly before Macro could finish.

Marco met Sebastianโ€™s deep eyes, and in that instant, a light bulb went off in his head. He understood. He was going to lecture the child again. They were both grown men, and he would look down on him if he couldnโ€™t understand this.

Macro left.

Now left alone with Sebastian, Stephanie felt incredibly nervous, as if her heart might jump out of her throat at any moment.

โ€œSebastian, do you feel any discomfort anywhere else?โ€ she stammered, trying to control the unease in her voice.

Sebastian gazed at her with deep eyes. Seeing that he didnโ€™t respond, Stephanie cautiously raised her eyes and glanced at Sebastian. When she met his profound gaze, her heart skipped a beat again.

โ€œWhyโ€ฆ Why are you staring at me like that?โ€ He was so intimidating when he was serious. Even Stephanie, who had grown up by his side, couldnโ€™t help but feel afraid of him.

โ€œCome here,โ€ Sebastian said.

Stephanie couldnโ€™t speak. She was filled with fear, but she didnโ€™t dare disobey the serious Sebastian. She shuffled over to the bed. The closer she got, the more she felt the intimidating aura emanating from him.

Stephanie didnโ€™t dare go any further. She cautiously glanced at Sebastian and asked, โ€œAre you feelingโ€ฆ unwell anywhere?โ€

The moment the words left her lips, Stephanie felt her wrist seized by his scorching hand. Before she could react, she was pulled down onto the bed.

Stephanieโ€™s breathing hitched. โ€œSebastian, what are youโ€ฆโ€

โ€œStefi, how did I get this injury here? Hmm?โ€ Sebastian pulled open his collar, revealing a large area of scratches right before Stephanie. Her blood seemed to freeze in her veins at that instant.

โ€˜No, wellโ€ฆ I really didnโ€™t scratch him. How did these blood marks get there?โ€™ Stephanie wondered to herself.

โ€œYeah, how did you get hurt?โ€ She looked at Sebastian with a bewildered expression.

Sebastian took her hand and looked at it closely. Seeing him staring at her nails, Stephanie felt a pang of guilt even though she had done nothing. She instinctively pulled her hand back and stammered, โ€œWellโ€ฆ from a fall?โ€

โ€œA fall that left marks like these? And so many of them?โ€

Stephanie couldnโ€™t speak. Her gaze instinctively flicked to Sebastianโ€™s chest, and those blood marks certainly looked like they were from scratching. The excuse of a fall was so unbelievable that even she didnโ€™t buy it.

Stephanie felt like crying.

โ€œThen how did you get hurt?โ€

She had been really careful not to scratch him, even when she was in pain and desperate. So she was really puzzled about how the injuries on his chest had appeared.

โ€œHow did I end up in your room?โ€ Sebastian asked.

Stephanieโ€™s mouth twitched. This was a question she couldnโ€™t explain even more.

โ€˜Wait, what does he mean by asking this? Heโ€™s forgotten again?โ€™ Thinking of this, Stephanie felt a bit uneasy.
