Chapter 250

Stephanie slapped Macro Vitaleโ€™s hand. โ€œWhat are you staring at? Trying to molest me? Iโ€™ll tell my brother!โ€

โ€œHey, you little girl, Iโ€™m telling you,โ€ Macro retorted.

โ€œWhat are you talking about? Are you going to see or not? I want to go to sleep if youโ€™re not,โ€ Stephanie said impatiently. She was really tired, but the sleepiness was all scared away by Macro.

Macro looked at her, then at the stairs. Finally, he gave her a look and went straight upstairs. Seeing that Macro didnโ€™t continue to pester her, Stephanie finally breathed a sigh of relief. But as she thought about the way Macro had just looked at her, she couldnโ€™t help but wail in her heart. It felt like the world was ending.

She followed Macro upstairs, only to find that Sebastian was awake when she entered the room. He was sitting on the bed, smoking a cigarette. The quilt on his chest slipped down, and the collar of his pajamas was slightly open, faintly revealing half a scratch mark.

Macro blinked in surprise. His breath instantly tightened. Stephanie didnโ€™t feel any better either. โ€˜No way, where did that mark come from?โ€™ she thought to herself. She remembered not scratching his chest, so there was no way he could have been injured. The moment their eyes met, Stephanieโ€™s heart couldnโ€™t help but tremble. Macro gulped, subconsciously glancing at Stephanie, making her feel like she was going crazy under his gaze.

โ€œHurry up and check.โ€ He said he wanted to see how Sebastian was doing after being drugged. What is he looking at her for? Macroโ€™s mind felt numb. He glanced at Sebastianโ€™s face, and there was no sign of anything abnormal from the drug now. Their eyes met; she saw a hint of coldness in Sebastianโ€™s eyes. Macroโ€™s mind went even blanker. He hadnโ€™t provoked this big shot in any way. โ€œLorenzo said you were drugged?โ€

Sebastian stubbed his cigarette out in the ashtray and lightly responded with a โ€œHmm.โ€

โ€œHow do you feel now?โ€ Macro asked.

โ€œI feel a bit weak and powerless.โ€

Stephanie froze for a second. Hearing this, Stephanieโ€™s heart leaped to her throat again, and she thought, โ€˜No wayโ€ฆ Wellโ€ฆโ€™ Macro, hearing Sebastian felt a bit weak, glanced at Stephanie again. Stephanie was already feeling guilty, and when she saw Macro looking at her, she felt like her heart was about to jump out of her throat.

โ€œWhy are you looking at me? Probably the drugโ€™s effect is too strong, right?โ€

Macro was speechless. Stephanie quickly added, โ€œThe drug was too potent, and so was the antidote, right?โ€ โ€˜Is this explanation good enough?โ€™ Stephanie thought to herself, trying to justify it in her mind. Macro and Sebastian simply looked at Stephanie without saying a word. Facing their gazes, Stephanie tightly clenched her hands, which were hidden inside her sleeves.

She stammered, โ€œSince my brother is fine now, why donโ€™t you go back first, Macro? I want to sleep for a while longer.โ€ She couldnโ€™t let Macro stay here. She could barely handle one, and if there was another, she would be exposed completely in no time.

โ€œAre you trying to get rid of me?โ€ Macro asked. This girl was being so obvious; he couldnโ€™t believe she didnโ€™t have something to hide.

Stephanie stuttered, โ€œNo, itโ€™s just that Iโ€ฆโ€

โ€œJust go back first. Iโ€™m fine.โ€ Sebastian spoke up before Stephanie could finish her words.

Macro glanced at Sebastian, intending to say more, but Sebastian simply gave him a look that shut him up. Macro was speechless. โ€˜How could he be so ungrateful? And Stephanie, sheโ€™s definitely up to something,โ€™ Macro thought to himself. Looking at Sebastian, then at Stephanie, Macro still wanted to speak. But seeing the way they were acting, he swallowed all the words that were on the tip of his tongue.
