Chapter 442
At the Hart residence, Catlin was frantic, trying to secure the millions needed for Oliviaโs medical bills while simultaneously calling Chad. Her tone on the phone was almost pleading. โI understand you have a new life outside this; Iโm not here to control or demand anything from you. But please, donโt be so harsh on us. You used to love Olivia so much.โ Olivia was like a daughter to both of them, and Catlin couldnโt believe Chad felt nothing at all. Illness needed to be treated, no matter the cost. Catlin was firm in her commitment to help Olivia recover, even though Olivia had once nearly caused Stephanieโs death.
But Chad was not so easy to deal with. An hour before Catlin called, he had already learned the truth. He was aware of everything that had happened at the Hart residence in the past few days. Now, with Catlin asking for money to treat Olivia, he completely lost his patience. โCatlin, are you out of your mind? She isnโt even related to us by blood, and she almost got Stefi killed.โ Chad was utterly furious.
So much chaos had occurred at the Hart residence lately. In his view, it was all due to Catlin not managing the younger generationโs issues well. Her excessive bias towards Olivia resulted in this situation. Chad shouted, โYou still want to treat her? What are you thinking?โ
The anger pierced through the phone lines, shocking Catlin to her core. Facing Chadโs fury, Catlin paused for a moment, then went hysterical. โSo what should I do? I raised her myself; am I supposed to just watch her die now?โ She really couldnโt do it. Just thinking about Olivia possibly dying because they couldnโt get the medicine made Catlinโs heart heavy.
Chad said, โIf you canโt do it, thatโs your problem; donโt involve all of us. Over 10 million dollarsโwho do you think has that kind of money available right now?โ Ten million dollars was a huge amount. Even the Hart family, both now and back in the day, couldnโt come up with that kind of money just like that.
Catlin was furious when she heard him. โSo now youโre spending all your money on that woman and ignoring us completely, is that it?โ Recently, sheโd been so caught up with things concerning Olivia that she hadnโt had time for anything else. She was even too preoccupied to realize that Chad had another family elsewhere. All she wanted was to bring the Hart family back together. She didnโt want her family to fall apart. But Chadโs attitude right now really made her angry.
โLet me tell you, Chad, youโre giving the money no matter what, whether you want to or not. And not just that, from now on, you have to give us 1.5 million dollars every month.โ If persuasion didnโt work, she might as well be tough.
Initially, Catlin wanted to talk things over nicely with Chad, but things fell apart. Little did she know, Chad had already become completely disappointed in her. Faced with Catlinโs overbearing behavior, Chad just said, โYouโre nuts!โ and hung up.
When Catlin tried calling again, she couldnโt get through. Chad had blocked her. Furious, Catlin let out a scream. Catlin thought, โWhy? Why has the family become like this? It was such a nice home. When did it start falling apart bit by bit? Why did things turn out this way?โ Catlin was so angry that her chest was heaving, and even her head felt a bit dizzy.
The butler came in, saying, โMaโam, these documents were sent to you in the mail.โ Catlin rubbed her forehead, still feeling a bit out of breath. She took the mail, tore it open, and pulled out the contents. 13:51 Wed, 26 Mar M.

Looking at them with impatience all over her face, there were some photos. As soon as Catlin realized who was in the pictures, her eyes widened, and she tightened her grip on them unconsciously. In the photo was Olivia, and the woman sitting across from her was Chadโs mistress. โWhat does this mean?โ She glanced at the butler, who looked perplexed, clearly not understanding much.
