Chapter 461
โHow many accidents has Ella had around Lorenzo? It seems like I really need to hurry back to Fiorenza; otherwise, Ellaโs sensitive heart might truly be traumatized,โ she thought.
โI just took off Lorenzoโs towel,โ Ella said. โDo you think heโll be so angry that heโll justโฆ kill me?โ
Over the phone, Ellaโs tone was far from calm, and she truly couldnโt calm down. Stephanie, upon hearing this, thought her ears must be playing tricks on her. โWhat did you say?โ
She couldnโt believe her ears. Ella was always carefree, but she wouldnโt be reckless to this extent.
โI said, I took off Lorenzoโs towel!โ Ella repeated.
Stephanie was stunned. โThis is a pretty big accident this time.โ
โAre you serious?โ Stephanie asked, now certain she hadnโt heard wrong. But she was still shocked.
Taking off Lorenzoโs towelโwhat on earth was she thinking? Even I canโt help her now. How could she be so reckless? thought Stephanie.
โIโm serious,โ Ella said.
โWhat happened?โ Stephanie asked. She didnโt think that Ella and Lorenzo had sex. If they had, Ella wouldnโt be calling her now; sheโd probably be crying to her tomorrow. And she didnโt believe that Lorenzo would have sex with Ella. After all, as Sofiaโฆ
โIโฆ I justโฆโ Ellaโs mind was in chaos, and she didnโt know how to explain.
Stephanie coughed awkwardly. โWell, even if Lorenzo isnโt capable of that, you canโt just challenge a manโs limits and dignity like that.โ
โI didnโt,โ Ella insisted. โI swear I didnโt.โ
โSo, what really happened?โ Stephanie asked.
โItโs justโฆ Iโฆโ Ella sighed and recounted the whole story. She really wasnโt being intentional; it just seemed like bad luck. She had carefully examined the situation but still couldnโt figure out how the towel had gotten caught in her zipper.
After listening to Ellaโs story, Stephanie was silent.
โI really didnโt mean to,โ Ella said again.
โOkay, I believe you,โ Stephanie replied.
โReally? Stefi, you really believe me? Will he believe me?โ Ella was terrified. She had seen with her own eyes how Lorenzo had shot those people in the head. She was genuinely afraid that he would get dressed, come downstairs, and shoot her.
โStefi, maybe you should have your brother call him and ask him to spare my life,โ Ella pleaded, her voice trembling.
Stephanie let out a soft hiss. โWhy are you crying now?โ
โIโm really scared!โ Ella sobbed. โYou have no idea how terrifying he is.โ
โHe wonโt,โ Stephanie reassured her.
โBut he will, he really will,โ Ella insisted, thinking back to the cold aura Lorenzo had exuded. His temper was so bad; it was really unpredictable.
Stephanie was taken aback. Ella cried for a while over the phone, and Stephanie kept trying to comfort her, but Ellaโs emotions only grew more and more out of control. She could understand Ellaโs fear; after all, she had never encountered such a situation or met someone like him before. It was natural that she couldnโt handle it all of a sudden. But Stephanie had never noticed before that Ella could cry so much.
Half an hour later, Stephanie finally managed to calm her down. โYou go and apologize to Lorenzo first. Weโll sort everything out when I get back.โ
No matter what, she had to stabilize the situation with Lorenzo first. If she had said this to Ella half an hour ago, Ella would definitely have blown up. But now, Ella choked out a response, โOkay.โ
โGo ahead. Iโll be back tomorrow,โ Stephanie said.
Ella responded with another โOkay,โ but her voice was still choked with fear. Stephanie comforted her a few more times on the phone before hanging up.
Listening to the beeping sounds on the phone, Ella took several deep breaths to steady her emotions. It was really something, this roller-coaster ride from embarrassment to fearโonly Ella had experienced it.
She went to the kitchen and poured a glass of water for Lorenzo, remembering that he had asked for it earlier. But as she reached the stairway, she saw Lorenzo standing at the railing upstairs.
Ellaโs heart skipped a beat, and a few drops of water spilled uncontrollably from the glass. โUh, Mr. Moretti,โ she stammered.
Lorenzo looked at her and asked, โWhy are you crying?โ
Ella had probably forgotten that she had just had a nosebleed. With the blood still smeared under her nose and now on her face, she looked quite a mess.
