Chapter 524

Stephanie stared at Ella, completely shocked. She couldnโ€™t believe Ella would do something like this. Seeing Ella break down, Stephanie knew she couldnโ€™t just sit there and ignore it. She had to figure out what was going on.

Ellaโ€™s situation was completely different from Allisonโ€™s. Acting disrespectfully toward Allison was one thing, but with Ella, if Stephanie didnโ€™t get to the bottom of this, she had a bad feeling she wouldnโ€™t be able to take Ella with her.

โ€œHey, stop crying for a second. Tell me what happened. Come on,โ€ Stephanie said, trying to stay calm.

Almost killed Lorenzo? If Ellaโ€™s telling the truth, this is worse than I thought, Stephanie thought.

Ella was crying so hard that she could barely breathe, her words coming out in broken sobs as she told the whole story from last night. She explained that she needed to change Lorenzoโ€™s bandages and give him some medicine. She was mixing the meds and pouring water, and the internal and external medicines looked similar. In the end, she mixed them up.

Stephanie looked at her and said, โ€œMixed them up? Thatโ€™s not the end of the world, right? Just the wrong medicine?โ€

Ella sniffled. โ€œHe took the external medicine, the one for the wounds. Itโ€™s pretty strong.โ€

When she said โ€œstrong,โ€ it was clear how serious the situation was. That made everything feel a lot more dangerous.

Stephanie listened to the whole story and just stared at Ella, speechless. โ€œThis is so stupid,โ€ she thought.

Ella wiped her tears. โ€œAm I really that dumb?โ€

Stephanie nodded silently. Seeing Ella cry like that made her not want to be harsh, but she still asked, โ€œWhat happened after that? There wasnโ€™t any serious damage, right?โ€

Ella was still alive, so Lorenzo mustโ€™ve been okay in the end. If something serious had happened, the people around Lorenzo wouldnโ€™t have let her off so easily.

Ella sniffled again. โ€œIn the end, it was fine. Just a scare. But I was terrified. His people looked like they were ready to eat me alive.โ€

At this point, Bernard had already gone to find Lorenzo. If he had heard Ella say this, he mightโ€™ve said, โ€œI havenโ€™t even gotten mad at her yet. If sheโ€™s this scared without me raising my voice, what would happen if I actually did?โ€

Stephanie chuckled. โ€œYeah, if it were me, Iโ€™d probably want to eat you alive, too.โ€

Lorenzo was just hurt, but Ella almost took his life.

Ella looked at her with wide eyes. โ€œWhat should I do now? Can you take me away from here?โ€

When she spoke, she looked at Stephanie with hope in her eyes. It was clear that she wanted to leave.

As soon as Stephanie heard Ella ask that, she knew there was more to the story. โ€œIs there something else you havenโ€™t told me?โ€

Ella shook her head quickly. โ€œNo.โ€

Bernard couldnโ€™t help but admire how quickly Stephanie picked up on things, a skill sheโ€™d clearly inherited from being raised by Sebastian.

Thinking about what Lorenzo had said to her, Ella was too scared to speak up. She just hoped Stephanie could talk to him, and then heโ€™d show some mercy and let her go.

Stephanie raised an eyebrow. โ€œReally?โ€

Ella nodded quickly. โ€œReally. I swear! Please go tell him to take me away. I donโ€™t want to stay here for another second.โ€

Seeing how desperate Ella was, Stephanie felt like something was still off, but she didnโ€™t press the issue. โ€œOkay, where is he?โ€

โ€œIn his room,โ€ Ella replied.

โ€œAlright, letโ€™s go together,โ€ Stephanie said.

Since he was in his room, Stephanie figured it wouldnโ€™t be right for her to go alone. If Sebastian found out, heโ€™d definitely say something, since he didnโ€™t allow her to go into any manโ€™s private space alone.

Ella stepped back. โ€œYou go.โ€

โ€œHey, come on,โ€ Stephanie said, giving her a look.
