Chapter 211

Although Grace's visit had been difficult, Catlin still believed they couldn't afford to lose Chris. Olivia and Chris had truly broken up; what would Olivia do? But now, Chris had hung up on her. What did that mean? Why would he hang up? Had they fought? Was it because she was pushing too hard for Whispering Bay? Had that upset him?

Whispering Bay was a priceless property, specifically chosen for Olivia's recovery, and the Ashford family would certainly object. The cancelled wedding with Stephanie had already strained Chris's relationship with his family, and now they would likely pressure him even more.

Olivia, hearing this, grew even more upset. "I didn't even push for it! He promised me this in the first place," she exclaimed. Everything was based on his word, and now that he hadn't followed through, why was he upset? She thought about Stephanie's smug expression, knowing she'd likely gloat soon enough. And that three hundred thousand dollars! Did Stephanie already know Olivia wouldn't be able to move in when she made that bet? The more she thought about it, the darker her expression became, and her breath grew heavier.

Things weren't going well for Olivia or Catlin at the hospital. Chris hadn't visited, nor had her brother, Tyler. Previously, at least one of them would visit Olivia's room, but now, no one had come. Unknown to them, the situation at the Hart family home was equally dire.

After Tyler's visit to Harrington Global, he finally pieced everything together. Turning to his father, Fred Hart, he said, "It's Skyriver Travel." The CEO, Tyler's classmate, had known why Tyler visited and asked directly if they'd offended Skyriver Travel. Fred's brow furrowed. "Skyriver Travel?" Tyler nodded. Fred raised an eyebrow, clearly confused. "When did we offend them?"

In Fred's memory, the Hart family had minimal interaction with Skyriver Travel. The company was only a few years old, yet its size dwarfed the Harts'. Tyler's face darkened.

On the way back, he'd thought a great deal. The more he considered it, the worse his expression became. He looked at Fred. "We didn't offend them, but recently, things have been strained with Stephanie Giovanni." Tyler recalled their previous attempts, along with Chris, to shut down Stephanie's studio. They'd contacted all of Stephanie's partners, but none met their demands. Skyriver Travel's response, however, had been particularly rude.

Fred looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Tyler's voice was grim. "Stephanie and Skyriver Travel have a close relationship. Most of their design work is for her." If Skyriver Travel was behind the Harts' troubles, there had to be a connection with Stephanie.

Fred's frown deepened. "You mean Stephanie is behind this?"

"It has to be her," Tyler gritted his teeth.

Fred's face darkened as he removed his glasses and rubbed his aching temples. His mind raced, confused by the situation.

At Mount Spring, Stephanie expected a direct trip to the hot springs. However, since it was almost noon, Sebastian took her to lunch first. They rested for an hour before heading to the springs. As they left, Sebastian handed her a thick robe. "Wear this when you change and go out; don't catch a chill."

"It's just a few steps," Stephanie replied.

The changing room was near the hot springs.

Chris insisted, "Still, you need to stay warm."

"Alright," Stephanie said, taking the robe.

Seeing her obedience, Chris affectionately pinched her nose. "You're so good."
