Chapter 13: Is He All Right?

A series of roars, like a raging storm, swept through the Quirk manor living room.

The shocking news left everyone dumbfounded, their gazes fixed intently on the nine-year-old boy. Everyone simultaneously echoed the same thought: How could this be possible?

Even Evian's mind went blank. She couldn't process that her child, presumed dead, had been raised by Jasper, right beside Sienna all along. That's my child?

Sean, oblivious to the others' stares, was horrified by his father and grandmother's condition. He frantically rushed to their side, but Alexander intercepted him.

Alexander was the first to regain his composure. He lowered his gaze to study the boy's youthful face. "So, Isabella says this is my nephew?"

Years ago, Evian had unexpectedly given birth prematurely. By the time the family arrived, they found only a stillborn child. This was at the private hospital their family had helped Jasper establish.

Alexander's brows furrowed, his expression alarmingly solemn. Isabella, still reeling from a series of kicks, steadied herself. Jasper, whom she had knocked over, covered his blood-covered face, roaring in pain, "You!"

However, the sight of Sean, held by Alexander, caught him off guard, especially Alexander's almost deadly gaze. Jasper felt his blood run cold.

Isabella, seizing the moment, made an excuse: "I had a hunch something was off. Sean and the Quirk family look strikingly similar. Moreover, I saw your mistress in the video; she bears no resemblance to her son."

Panicked, Jasper stammered, "W-What nonsense are you spouting?"

Isabella knew her words were confusing and potentially upsetting to the Quirk family, especially considering Evian's loss and possible infertility. Even false hope could cause devastating harm. But she had no choice. The matter was too significant to let Jasper keep the child.

Isabella lowered her gaze and turned to Alexander. "Um, don't you think he looks like"

"Right, he bears a striking resemblance to Evie. I don't believe it's a coincidence," a deep, steady voice boomed. Isabella looked up, meeting Alexander's unwavering black eyes. His unwavering belief in her left her speechless. Is he all right?

With a twitch of his lips, Alexander addressed Jasper: "We, the Quirk family, have doubts about this child's identity. We will verify it."

Jasper watched in disbelief. Moments ago, he fantasized about revenge; now, the tables had turned.

"Have you all lost your minds? Sean is my son and Sienna's. Evian's been gone for years"

He realized he couldn't face the consequences. Fear stole his breath, silencing his defense, especially under Alexander's icy gaze. His silence confirmed everything.

Though young, Sean instinctively tried to reach Jasper, despite Jasper's indifference and Sienna's mistreatment. They were still his parents.

A warm embrace enveloped Sean, accompanied by a raspy sob. Looking up, he saw Evian, her face shocked, her eyes brimming with tears, desperately trying to see him clearly. Sean was overcome with sorrow, mirroring Evian's tears. "M-Ma'am"

Evian looked at Sean, feeling an overwhelming connection. With trembling hands, she caressed his cheek, overcome with agony and silent tears. Nine years of believing him dead She fainted, supported by Sean.

Selena rushed over, holding Sean. "He does! He does have the resemblance. He's my eldest grandson! He's my eldest grandson!" The resemblance was undeniable.

David, furious, dragged Jasper from the hall; the butler restrained the bewildered Paula.

Half an hour later, Alexander calmly called an ambulance. That night, the Quirk family went to another Quirk-invested hospital, Sienna forcibly brought along.

Sienna then noticed Jasper's unconscious state and multiple fractures, while Sean was protected by the Quirks. The DNA results came instantly.

Evian, holding the report and Sean, wept openly. Sean stared blankly at Sienna, unable to call her "Mom," only managing a dumbfounded, "Why?"

Sienna, resigned, spat out words of resentment: "This is the debt you and your mother owe me and my son. You little bastard child. You should have been dealt with from the start to pay for my son's life!" She was not his mother, but the devil who stole him for nine years.

Sean broke down, his admiration shattered. The events left Isabella with little inclination for gossip; she monitored Sienna's situation. Isabella usually needed a person's name and appearance before gossiping; had she known Sienna earlier, the twist might not have occurred.

Sienna's stillborn child had led to a conflict with Jasper, both blaming Evian. After Evian's child was born, Sienna demanded Jasper compensate her with the child. Isabella concluded Sienna was a psychopath, and Jasper, for his pride, agreed.

Isabella mentally remarked, "Pathetic." She judged Sienna's inability to care for Sean, resulting in his inferiority complex. When Sienna was pregnant again, Sean became an inconvenience, fueling their malicious intent. Before the Quirks arrived, Sienna mocked Evian's inability to recognize her son. She planned to keep Sean distant from his parents, ensuring his loyalty, then favoring their biological son.

Selena, losing composure, slapped Sienna repeatedly, her cheek swelling, blood trickling. Sienna, initially frenzied, was stunned by the Quirk family's actions and David's intimidating gaze.

"I'm pregnant, y-you cannot harm me!" Sienna cried.

Alexander stepped forward. "We won't harm your child, but you will pay for everything you've done."

Had the Quirks not been law-abiding, the duo would have been killed. However, living was even more terrifying for them.
