Chapter 323: What Choice Do I Have

Watching Yvonne fight so valiantly alone was admirable. Her unique counterattack was impressive. However, Polly was equally well-prepared.

After Yvonne spoke, Polly sneered dismissively. "You think a DNA test is impossible after the child's death?" she snarled.

Yvonne's sobs ceased. Of course, that's what she'd been thinking.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk," Polly continued. "You had an examination at my hospital. Do you think I wouldn't keep the samples? Bring your husband and your lover for a test. The truth will be revealed." A decisive blow, leaving no room for rebuttal. I wonder if she'll actually name her lover.

The Quirk family anticipated the revelation. If Yvonne named someone, it would only be Aiden. Further arguments would expose more juicy details—a treat for the onlookers.

The audience was exhilarated by the unfolding drama. It was an unexpected turn; otherwise, hastily assuming Yvonne was at fault would have been embarrassing.

The truth hinged on whether Yvonne would submit to the test. However, a test seemed unnecessary.

Under everyone's gaze, Yvonne finally crumbled. Her body went limp, and she slumped to the ground, cursing, "You… you bitch!"

Polly immediately slapped Yvonne. "Watch your mouth, you slut," she spat. "You're nothing compared to me. You cheated and tried to make your husband a substitute father. Who's as despicable as you?" Yvonne and the others were stunned. The first slap surprisingly came from Polly.

Polly swiftly exacted her revenge, then mockingly turned to Ralph. "Oh, Ralph," she said self-righteously, "next time you remarry, keep your eyes open. Ah, right, you can't have children, so marriage is pointless. Perhaps you should just give up to avoid being taken advantage of again."

Polly, resentful of the couple, wouldn't let either off the hook. Her tactic was to strike where it hurt most. Yvonne's reaction was essentially an admission of guilt.

Ralph was on the verge of fainting after Polly's sarcastic remark. Everyone frantically tried to keep him conscious. It was his wedding, his wife; he had to handle it.

Ralph quickly regained his composure and rushed forward. Before Yvonne could react, he slapped her twice.

"Despicable woman," he raged. "After all my kindness, you betray me? Tell me who your lover is! Don't waste my time!" Facing harsh reality, Ralph was consumed by rage and humiliation. He wanted to kill her.

Yvonne, humiliated in front of so many, threw caution to the wind. "You treated me well? You're a lecherous pervert!" she yelled.

"What? You seduced me! You wanted to climb the social ladder!" Ralph gasped, enraged.

Yvonne became more distraught. "I respected and cared for you as an elder, but you had ill intentions. If I hadn't noticed your intentions, why would my parents have drugged me and sent me to your bed, you shameless old man? I was forced from the beginning! It wasn't my choice!"

Ralph was speechless, his face green. "I've never forced a woman. How am I to blame for your family's scheme? If you were forced, why didn't you speak up afterward? You could have sought compensation! Yet, you willingly became my girlfriend and agreed to marry me. Did I ever force you?"

Ralph was right about one thing: despite being a playboy, he'd never forced anyone. However, both felt wronged.

Yvonne broke down. "There's no use crying over spilt milk. You've made it impossible for my lover and me to be together. What choice did I have but to choose you?"
