Chapter 324: A Painful Sight
After all, Ralph wasn't just anyone; he was Aiden's father. She knew she could never openly marry Aiden. To remain close to him, she had to settle for less.
Ralph, frustrated, spat blood. What was this all about? They weren't living in ancient times, yet everything seemed his fault. He felt trapped. However, Yvonne's actions seemed unbelievable to others.
No one had ever seen a young, beautiful woman treat a CEO—especially a notorious womanizer like Ralph—like an elder, diligently caring for him. Anyone would misunderstand her intentions. Ralph, after all, wouldn't have known of her existence in the company.
Those in the know, however, understood Yvonne's respectful treatment of Ralph. She treated him as a future father-in-law, hoping to gain his favor. If he approved of her, she might become his daughter-in-law.
But Ralph misinterpreted her actions as seduction, leading to the current situation. The entire affair was beyond belief.
"I don't care about your excuses. I've done nothing wrong. You should feel guilty! Tell me! Who is it?" Ralph's furious gaze swept over the other Burke men.
Yvonne remained silent, willing to sacrifice for love. The other Burke men, however, dared not remain silent; they had to uncover the truth.
Elijah felt anxious, but remembered Yvonne's previous words. The ambiguous past between Aiden and Yvonne, and their discussion about another child, suggested a relationship. That night, Aiden had been drunk and possibly unaware of what happened. He thought he'd easily conceal the incident.
Looking up, Elijah saw Aiden ignoring Yvonne. Was he truly that confident? This made Elijah uneasy.
"So no one will speak up? Fine, let's investigate this together!" Ralph fumed.
Yvonne grew nervous. She was sacrificing for love and had to protect Aiden. She glanced at him, despite his previous disregard. Surely, he would help her now.
But she saw Aiden on his phone, showing Ines something. He affectionately pinched Ines's cheek, urging her to relax.
Ines, engrossed in her phone, glared at the interruption. Aiden responded with a delighted grin, quickly followed by a hurt expression. Ines, left with no choice, placated him with a quick peck.
The sight was painful for Yvonne. She had endured so much, yet they… Why? Why?
Her laughter escalated into a frenzied, mournful sound. She felt wronged.
"If you're so heartless, don't blame me for being ruthless. Even if I go to hell, I won't go alone!" Yvonne yelled at Aiden, instantly drawing the room's attention.
"The lost baby wasn't yours; it was your son's! You almost became a grandfather!" Yvonne mocked Ralph, her expression wild.
Those who didn't know the truth were dumbfounded. A pin could have been heard drop. Everyone suspected a Burke family member except Aiden.
Aiden's infatuation with Ines was legendary. How could he abandon his family business for a woman? Yet, he revolved around his wife constantly. Rumors of an affair with Yvonne were unbelievable.
The Deleons reacted quickly, focusing on Aiden. Their expressions were neutral, but they clearly awaited his response.
Ralph looked at his son, feeling little emotional connection. He knew his son resented him, blaming him for his first wife's death.
