Chapter 361: Love Could Conquer All

Terry and Vera continued to grumble, but they were ignored. Alexander and Christopher prevented them from approaching Sarah, their imposing elegance deterring any further attempts. Terry and Vera could only desperately try to communicate with Bennett, but he seemed unresponsive. Near death, he clung to life, waiting for his plans to succeed, only to realize they were failing. He was at his wit's end.

"Honey, that's my effort and dedication too. You can't… can't…"

Sarah laughed at Bennett's hypocritical and pathetic expression. "If you dare do that, why can't I? You married into the Quirk family. How can I let a random nobody take advantage of Nina? You must think little of me." Bennett's lifeless pallor momentarily gave way to a flicker of life; his expression was indecipherable – a curse, a plea, or continued deception? Sarah silenced him. "Shh, be quiet. Just watch from the heavens later and see how I'll make all your schemes amount to nothing!"

Silence fell. Terry and Vera seemed to understand; Sarah was openly confronting him, holding nothing back. Had everything been exposed?

"Sarah…" Panic seized Terry and Vera. They tried to speak, but the medical equipment monitoring Bennett's condition began to alarm.

Chaos erupted in the ward. Sarah calmly stepped back, embracing Nina, leaving Terry and Vera to wail at Bennett's bedside. Nina didn't look at the bed, only crying. Gradually, all readings on the monitor fell to zero.

Carlos looked at Bennett, devoid of sorrow, his expression grim. "What do you mean? Are you suggesting… Bennett did something unforgivable behind your back?" Sarah's face was frozen, staring at her dead husband. She was finally a widow.

Scoffing, she leaned close to Carlos and whispered, "Go, find the director for me. It's time to…"

Chapter 361: Love Could Conquer All (continued)

Carlos' eyes widened in surprise at Sarah's instructions.

Though David's family couldn't hear the siblings' conversation, they had Isabella, a gossip enthusiast.

Swift, ruthless, precise, and efficient! Sarah was impressive. She seemed to be planning immediate cremation and funeral arrangements.

David's siblings were astonished. Alexander, however, wasn't surprised; delays could lead to unforeseen changes, and Sarah knew this.

When Jake and Eula arrived with Caitlin and Adam, they saw hospital staff wheeling away the body, draped in white cloth, while Terry and Vera created a commotion trying to stop them.

Bennett's parents were unaware of Sarah's intentions. They couldn't bear to part with Bennett without a proper farewell, and felt his children should say goodbye. However, Sarah gave them no chance, calling her bodyguards to clear the way. By the time Caitlin and Adam realized what was happening, the body was gone.

"What on earth is going on… How…" Caitlin stepped forward anxiously, sensing something was amiss. Adam was more concerned about Sarah and Nina's emotional state.

Seeing her parents, Sarah finally broke down, crying and explaining the injustices she and Nina had suffered.

Sarah's decision to accept Bennett's proposal had been influenced by her parents' relationship. Adam, despite being a live-in son-in-law to the Quirk family, had a supportive relationship with Caitlin's family. There were no quarrels over Caitlin's greater power. Sarah believed she, too, could find happiness marrying beneath her. Sadly, reality proved harsh.

Evian and Rosalie understood; protected by the Quirk family, they had witnessed harmonious relationships, seeing no issue in choosing seemingly less accomplished men. They, too, believed love could conquer all.
