Chapter 389: Gifted Jewelry
Without Isabella's help, David and his family would have faced unknown challenges. While some might have continued life oblivious, they wouldn't have been truly happy. They would have preferred the temporary pain of awakening from a dream to the future regret of undiscovered truth.
Sarah repeatedly expressed gratitude for Alexander and Isabella's assistance. Furthermore, without Isabella's idea for a livestream, Carlos wouldn't have escaped unharmed. Therefore, they refused to let Isabella undervalue her contributions.
The family frantically signaled Alexander, but he didn't need prompting. Overwhelmed by Isabella's self-doubt, he hugged her tightly, saying, "Bella, you're our family's lucky star. Without you, who knows what would have happened? Please continue to shine on us." He kissed her forehead, instantly charming her.
Back at the Quirk estate, Carlos's ordeal couldn't be kept secret. The elders praised Isabella, rewarding her handsomely. Lionel spoke, and Marley retrieved antique jewelry from her safety deposit box, presenting it to a delighted Isabella. The jewelry's worth was immediately apparent, but Isabella only learned its true value—as heirlooms of Alexander's grandmother—in her room. This gift indirectly acknowledged her status as the lady of the family.
Isabella was surprised. "I thought there would be a test," she said.
Alexander, who shared her fondness for such things, helped her evaluate the jewelry's value. "You're the lady of the family; no test is needed. Everything will be yours," he replied.
Isabella pondered, "Should I keep them?"
Alexander hesitated before suggesting, "If you want, we can discreetly sell them. We can't let Grandpa find out."
"Am I that kind of person?!" she exclaimed.
Alexander looked at her innocently. After all, Isabella preferred gold.
Isabella smiled, wrapping her arms around Alexander's waist. "I believe in sharing. Grandfather only rewarded me, making me feel embarrassed since everyone contributed. Although I now know they're meant for the head of the Quirk family"
"You want to give some to others?" Alexander asked.
"Jewelry should be worn, so it's fitting to give some to the Quirk family's girls," she replied.
Smiling, Alexander ruffled her hair. He understood her desire to share with those she considered family. "Okay. Your happiness matters most."
Isabella immediately distributed jewelry to the Quirk family girls present, setting aside pieces for those absent. Janice's delight wasn't solely about the jewelry, but the shared gesture that solidified her place within the family.
Days later, however, trouble arose after Janice secretly wore her jewelry. Isabella was teased for favoring girls, to which she replied, "When you find significant others, I'll gift them then."
Christopher was silenced by her sister-in-law's meaningful glance, while Jake insisted he'd soon have a partner—until his sister’s relentless teasing.
Checking the system, Isabella discovered Jake had been rejected after a face-to-face meeting request. This raised suspicion of a fake online profile.
David and his family struggled to suppress their laughter, just as Carlos came downstairs, slightly late due to yesterday’s emotional exhaustion.
