“David, didn’t you say the equipment we purchased is currently world-leading? Why is the equipment brought back by Jeremy and his team more advanced than ours?”

“Did you actually clarify the situation? Do you have any idea how embarrassed I was?” Audrey had never been so angry with David before.

The thought of being stared at by a group of people as if she were a fool, especially when Lindsey remarked, ‘You are far too casual in your role as a vice director,’ was simply a direct slap in her face.

“Just because their machines are newer than ours, they look down on me. Even the people selling the machines treat me with contempt. How could I not be angry about this?”

David burst out laughing and said, ‘Obviously, they’ve been fooled by the machine vendor. Without any proper market data validation, it’s only a matter of time before they suffer losses!’

“Hearing you say that puts my mind at ease!” Audrey’s anger completely subsided.

After hanging up the phone, she clenched her teeth, thinking, ‘Jeremy Wilcourt, just wait. When the day comes that you have to beg me, you will see how I humiliate you.’

Jaden waited for a while outside Audrey’s office. After seeing that she was no longer upset following her phone call, he, too, felt relieved.
