Natalie was plunged into hell; her entire body went cold. She looked at the paper on her phone, trembling all over.
She asked, “It’s Josie, isn’t it? She took this project and conducted a full experiment, just to spite me? Josie is such a bitch. Why is she doing this to me?”
Natalie wailed, and after her tears, she panicked. “Professor, you can’t abandon me. This isn’t my fault; I didn’t do anything wrong. Josie is at fault. It must be her. Check again thoroughly. The experimental data she presented must be incorrect. It can’t be real. My paper was given to me by Aiden. Is Aiden not as good as Josie? Is what he wrote less accurate than what Josie wrote? Natalie was completely distraught. She kept defending herself, trying to prove she hadn’t done anything wrong.
“I see how it is!” David turned the car and went straight to the Brown family. He wondered why Josie hadn’t published the paper under her own name. If she had, she would have been even more triumphant now.

Aiden wasn’t home. He had been entertaining clients a lot recently for company business. He had been drinking. When he returned, he ran into David and Natalie at the door.

His smile deepened. “Back then, I was truly blind to actually think Josie was an incompetent, foolish girl who got in by luck. Now that I think about it, I was terribly wrong. Perhaps the data she revised for me back then was the correct data. She has always been better at calculations than us. It’s just that you always thought she had wild ideas…”
Aiden walked into the room. “You can leave now. I can’t help with this. Professor, listen to me. Instead of promoting a useless person, you should focus on the research you have. Don’t forget that Brown Group invested a lot of money this time. If you waste Brown Group’s investment like you did with Monroe Group’s money, your reputation will be ruined!”
