Chapter 410
โYou knew Josie had altered the data in the paper. She knew there was a problem with the paper long ago, but you didnโt tell me. Were you just trying to embarrass me? What did I do to you for you to treat me like this? You bastard!โ
As she grabbed Aidenโs hair and slammed his head against the ground for the third time, David finally reacted.
โAre you crazy?โ David yelled and was about to step forward, but the Brown family had already rushed out.
Two bodyguards dragged the frantic Natalie off Aidenโs waist. Natalie struggled, still kicking.
She said, โAiden, you bastard, you deserve a terrible end. I hate you!โ
With a smack, the world fell silent.
Aidenโs mother, Sibley Brown, helped Aiden up, then rushed forward and slapped Natalie repeatedly.
She said, โWhere did this lunatic come from? How dare you hit my son? Call the police. Iโll make sure she goes to jail!โ
โNoโฆโ David stepped forward, startled, but before he could reach Sibley, he was pushed to the ground by a bodyguard.
In the end, Natalie was forcibly taken to the police station, while David and Aiden both ended up in the hospital.
David was filled with regret. If he had known, he wouldnโt have come to see Aiden. He could have just called Aiden about this.
However, it wasnโt entirely without gain. At least it showed that Josie had indeed discovered the issues right when Natalieโs paper was first published, and she had long known that Natalieโs paper was Aidenโs work.
But she had held back from exposing it until today. Only after all of Natalieโs experimental validations were complete and the results were published, did she begin to refute it. Not only did it make them lose the award that was almost within their grasp, but it also thoroughly exposed Davidโs negligence.
David thought, โThat cunning scoundrel. If you want to take me down, what you have done is barely enough.โ
David took out his phone and contacted a magazine reporter.
Early the next morning, Josie was woken up by the urgent ring of her phone. She was still groggy from sleep, but felt no discomfort.
She propped herself up on her arms to find her phone, but Sean had already handed it over. โItโs Anna!โ
Josie quickly sat up, her drowsiness completely gone. โAnna?โ
โDavid is such a bastard. I am pissed. Iโve never seen anyone so shameless!โ Annaโs voice rose in anger.
Josie unconsciously moved the phone slightly away. โWhat exactly happened? Tell me.โ
Anna panted slightly. โIโll send you a link to your phone. You can look at it later. In short, Iโm absolutely furious. This morning, I went to see my colleague, and we almost got into a fight. That jerk actually said he was right. I am speechless. Josie, think carefully. Do you have any evidence to suggest that Natalieโs paper is related to David?โ
Josie slightly furrowed her brows.
She asked, โDid David disassociate from Natalie, claiming he was unaware of her paperโs publication and that he wasnโt her thesis advisor?โ
Anna paused. โDid you see the link I sent you?โ
Josie sighed, โNot yet. But I can guess. Anna, do not worry. I will think about this. If I find any evidence, I will send it to you immediately.โ
Anna nodded softly. โOkay, hurry up. This is so infuriating. David is so shameless. Someone on my team is even helping him write articles and abetting him!โ
Josie did not know what to say. She gently comforted Anna for a while and finally managed to calm her down.
After hanging up the phone, her expression turned cold. She reached out and clicked on the link Anna sent.
The article in the link was an exclusive interview with David.
In the exclusive interview, a reporter mentioned that he had tried to arrange an interview with David many times, but David had always been too busy and had not agreed to this exclusive interview.
David agreed this time because he had received too many calls in the past few days from people asking him to verify something. He wanted to use this exclusive interview to clarify things.
