Chapter 41
Today, Luna was wearing the light purple dress she had bought the day before. Unlike yesterday, though, she had also put on a touch of light makeup. She hadn’t planned on wearing makeup, but Jade insisted, saying her complexion looked too dull and that some makeup would go perfectly with the dress. Not wanting to ruin the mood of her friends, she let Jade do her makeup, and the result was stunning. From a distance, she looked absolutely gorgeous, like a fairy.
“You must be mistaken. Luna always wears black-rimmed glasses and would never wear such a bright dress, let alone makeup. That can’t be her!” Mia glanced up but didn’t believe that the beautiful woman in the purple dress could be Luna.
The person speaking looked at Wyatt, saw no reaction, and then walked toward Luna.
“Well, if I’m mistaken, so be it. But I must get to know such a beautiful junior. Why haven’t I seen her before?”
When Wyatt saw him put down the brochure and head toward the woman in the purple dress, his brows furrowed.
“How could the student council have someone like this? We should eliminate him in next year’s student council elections.”
Mia smiled slightly, her lips curling.
“Not everyone only cares about character and substance like you, Wyatt. He is just an ordinary person. It’s only natural for him to be attracted to her.” Wyatt’s innate sense of superiority was satisfied by Mia’s words. She was right. He wasn’t just any ordinary person, so how could he be easily attracted to just any woman? He hadn’t even been moved when the campus belle confessed to him. What was a regular woman with a bit of charm compared to that?
At that moment, the senior who had walked away earlier returned.
“Wyatt, it seems even you can make mistakes sometimes. That woman is none other than your Luna!”
Upon hearing this, Mia shot him a displeased glare.
“Don’t talk nonsense, Luna is just Luna. How did she become Wyatt’s Luna? If anyone overhears you, they might get the wrong idea. You’re slandering him!”
Wyatt also glanced at the person with a cold look. “It’s people like you who spread rumors. What a damn nuisance.”
“I admit I said something wrong, but how can that be called slander? Luna was once part of your team. What’s wrong with linking you two together?”
He couldn’t stand it any longer.
At that moment, Luna and Nicole walked over. Wyatt saw Luna, who looked completely different from before. Though surprised, he mostly felt disgusted. He knew she couldn’t completely ignore him. He had thought she would at least hold out for three days, but just one day had passed, and she couldn’t resist coming to him. She had even dressed up like this. He admitted she did look prettier than before, but she was far from extraordinary. Did she expect him to fall in love at first sight? How laughable. He was no ordinary college student. He had seen all kinds of beautiful women. A woman like Luna held no appeal for him.
“What are you doing here? Let me make this clear—I’m busy today and don’t have time for your nonsense. If you want me to forgive you, apologize to Russell and get what he needs ready. Since we’ve known each other for three years, I won’t hold a grudge over your tantrum these past few days. You can come to me for academic matters in the future. If you need help, I’ll still be willing to.”
Wyatt believed he had been very gracious. According to the usual pattern, Luna would now be moved to tears, apologize sincerely, and agree to everything he said. But the reality was quite different.
“Does he have a seriousness?” Nicole was shocked. If she hadn’t read Lana’s diary, she might have thought Luna was deeply in love with Wyatt just from hearing these words. It was a pity. She should have brought Jade along today to show her Wyatt’s self-righteous attitude.
Luna couldn’t help but laugh. Wyatt was always like this around her, acting high and mighty. He always considered himself untouchable, as if someone like her was unworthy of his attention.
