Chapter 93

“Look, Prolesson Hanley’s team apologized to me and said I could come back,” Lama said, holding up her phone for Rhett to see, a bright smile showing just how happy she was.

“Sa. Are you going back?” Rhett asked, a bit amused by her reaction.

Luna shook her head with a grin. “Of course not. I’m part of your team now. Going back would make me a traitor.”

Her words about being part of his team were like a small hammer gently striking Rhett’s chest, causing him to place his hand over his heart and rub it instinctively. The feeling was strange, but it made his smile grow.

“You’d better stick to your word. Don’t forget. We’re a team now, and we still have a competition to prepare for.”

“I haven’t forgotten,” Luna said, looking down at her phone. She suddenly looked up at him with wide eyes. “Rhett, don’t tell me you suspect I’m happy because they want me back on the team.”

Rhett was flustered and turned his face away.

“I didn’t think that.”

“You do,” Le said with a laugh as she stood up and walked toward him. “What do you think of me? I wouldn’t do something so fickle.”

“You took me in when I was at my lowest. How could I turn around and use your help to go back there? That’s not something I’d do.”

Rhett stopped smiling and grew serious. “Alright. I was wrong. I apologize.”

Luna was stunned and startled. She hadn’t expected Rhett to apologize, as if it were no big deal. But when she thought about Wyatt and the others, getting them to admit they were wrong and apologize was something she’d waited far too long for in her past.

“What’s wrong with you?” Rhett, who wasn’t used to dealing with girls, couldn’t understand why Luna’s eyes turned red just from him apologizing. “I didn’t mean it like that. Don’t cry.” He wasn’t good at comforting others, and it made him nervous.

Luna shook her head. “I’m not crying. I’m just happy. I’m happy to be part of this team and to know you. You’re a responsible and good person!”

Rhett, who had unexpectedly received the “Good Person Card,” said, “Just because I apologized to you, you called me a responsible, good person?”

“Of course!” Luna nodded seriously. “Small actions show a person’s character. You might not get it, but you’re a responsible and good person to me!”

Lama had overlooked these small things and kept yielding to her seniors in her past life. She only realized later that each time she gave in, there would be another chance to do so. Giving in might seem small at first, but next time, it could lead to something bigger. Even a single horseshoe nail could ruin a country. Similarly, small things could ruin a person.

Rhett was in a good mood. “Alright, you win. It’s up to you.”

‘By the way, Rhett, I have some exciting news.” Luna winked at him and opened the forum, showing the bold guy and Wyatt’s bet.

Rhett’s gaze grew serious. “You’re happy because of this?”

“Of course. Apart from this, I don’t care about their apology or the fact that they want me back on the team,” Luna said, raising her chin proudly like a little cock.

Rhett chuckled. “You’ve got some guts.”

“Of course!” Lane grinned and then typed a reply on her phone. “By the way, the person who bet that I would return to Professor Hanley’s team is Wyatt’s anonymous account. I don’t know where he gets the confidence to think I’ll return! I’m going to knock him down a peg for always acting so arrogant. It’s really annoying!”

Chapter 94

Maybe it was because Luna and the others had been spending more time together lately and had gotten more comfortable that she had shed her initial caution. Now, she occasionally showed the softness and charm of a young woman. She’d snap back, have her little thoughts, and reveal her true emotions without hesitation—making it impossible to look away. She was clearly a hidden gem, yet somehow, Wilson and his group must have been blind to have bullied her until she nearly lost all her shine.

Thankfully, it wasn’t too late. Watching her gradually regain her spark, Rhett couldn’t help the stir in his heart. He just wanted to whisk her away and keep her all to himself.
