Chapter 755 (+25 Bonus)
Molly replied coldly, "I am the prince's wife. There is no question of blame between us. But if this matter troubles him, I will take it seriously. Get a carriage ready. I'll leave immediately."
Seeing Molly's willingness to go, Fiona ignored her condescending tone and hurried outside to summon a carriage.
As Molly stepped outside, she saw Carissa approaching with a large contingent of Capital Guards. Molly didn't initially recognize Carissa, but a moment's scrutiny revealed her identity.
Carissa, accompanied by Michael and a dozen guards, made a grand entrance. Their show of force was deliberate; they intended to interrogate several noblewomen and titled ladies. Carissa needed to make a statement, to show that if she could confront Yuvan and his household with such authority, other noble families could expect no less. Failing to create a similar spectacle for the other families would imply leniency, which would be detrimental. This approach would avoid offending them and might even earn their gratitude.
Molly saw them enter Edgeview Estate and exclaimed, "What do you think you're doing? How dare you! This is Prince Yuvan's residence!"
Michael stepped forward and announced, "The Capital Guard is here under the king's orders to assist the Supreme Court in investigating the treason case against Eleanor. We have some questions for Lady Molly and Lady Fiona."
Molly was taken aback. "What business do you have at Edgeview Estate regarding a treason investigation? There's nothing to discuss! Leave."
"Are you defying the king's command, Lady Molly?" Carissa said icily.
Fiona rushed from the main hall, her face paling at Carissa's words. "Since it's the king's command, please come in at once," she quickly said.
Looking up, she finally noticed Carissa's official attire. Though unaware of other news, she knew Carissa commanded the Mystic Army.
"Oh, it's you, Commander Sinclair! What a surprise," Fiona said with a forced smile, turning to Molly. "Quickly, call the children."
Upon returning to the capital, Yuvan had formally bestowed the title of heir apparent upon Fiona's son, Lucian Sanford. Randall, the son of the late Avis, was granted the title of county duke. Randall, Yuvan's eldest son by a deceased concubine and raised by Avis, had been elevated to the status of a direct descendant. However, given Avis's tragic death, he had no hope of inheriting the title of heir.
To avoid attracting unwanted attention, Fiona welcomed Carissa and the Capital Guards inside. She summoned Sabrina, Stephanie, and Randall, hoping Carissa's familial connection to Avis (her maternal aunt) would lead to leniency toward Yuvan's household.

Fiona knew Yuvan would be under suspicion, but at least they were only there to ask questions, not to make arrests. There was no evidence linking Yuvan's household to Eleanor's alleged treason; Eleanor hadn't implicated them yet.
Once inside the main room, Carissa, Michael, and the guards took their seats. A scribe from the Capital Guard office was present to record the proceedings. Before any questions were asked, Randall entered with Sabrina and Stephanie.
The two county duchesses had never been close to their mother, Avis, and were even less fond of Carissa. They sat down without acknowledging anyone. Randall, however, nodded slightly to Carissa and greeted her.
Carissa nodded in return. "Everyone, please be seated. I am here on official business. You will answer my questions as they are asked."
Stephanie frowned icily. "What kind of business? Are you trying to make a name for yourself by bullying our family now that you're an official?"
Fiona interjected, giving Stephanie a pointed look. "Stephanie, listen to Commander Sinclair and answer her questions. She's your cousin. She won't make things difficult for you."
Stephanie scoffed, turning away. "Just get on with your questions."
