Chapter 110: Clashing Wills

Ellis had long concluded that the scumbag Easton didn't want her to have his child, but his judgmental attitude still irked her. โ€œDonโ€™t worry, I wonโ€™t have your child! Even if I find out tonight that Iโ€™m really pregnant, Iโ€™ll get an abortion immediately. I wonโ€™t let the child spend a night in my womb!โ€

Hearing Ellisโ€™s cold and resolute words, Eastonโ€™s face turned frosty. โ€œDo you know what it means to have my child?โ€

It meant that Easton would give Ellis a fortune she could never exhaust. As a father, he would never shortchange his own child. Anything Ellis desired but couldnโ€™t have, he could provide for the child, and indirectly, she could benefit. Frankly, the child would ensure Ellis a life of security and luxury for the rest of her life. Moreover, the child might even take over his business one day, placing riches and honor within her grasp.

โ€œHave a child with my soon-to-be ex-husband? What a joke! What makes you think youโ€™re worth the risk of childbirth?โ€ Ellis scoffed coldly. โ€œGiving birth is like going through the gates of hell. Iโ€™m not willing to take that risk for a child with a scumbag like you. You donโ€™t deserve it!โ€

Childbirth wasnโ€™t just about the act of delivery; it involved enduring the arduous ten months of pregnancy, followed by the immense pain of labor, and even the risk of losing her life. Once, she had loved Easton so much that she dreamed of having a child with him, fantasizing about a cozy family of three and even considering whether to risk having two children, a boy and a girl, to complete the family.

Reality had made it crystal clear that Easton was not worth her love or the risk of childbirth.

โ€œScumbag? Undeserving?โ€ Easton met her clear, bright eyes, his own reflecting the word โ€˜undeserving.โ€™ His heart felt as if it were pricked by an invisible needle, a pain so faint it was almost imperceptible. โ€œWho was it that first brought up having children?โ€

โ€œThat was then, this is now. Donโ€™t conflate the two!โ€ Ellis withdrew her hand from the nurse after the blood draw. โ€œHavenโ€™t you learned anything? Donโ€™t you get a proper education?โ€

After her biting remark, she didnโ€™t look at Eastonโ€™s darkening face but asked the nurse, โ€œHow long until the results are out?โ€

The couple, strikingly handsome and beautiful, Easton exuding an air of authority and grace with every move, sat in a palpable chill; the nurse quickly adjusted her desire to stare at them.

โ€œThe results should be out in about an hour. Please wait patiently.โ€

The nurse quickly finished her duties and hurried off to the lab with the blood samples. Waiting with nothing to do, Ellis sat idly.

But the relentless scumbag wouldnโ€™t leave her alone, sitting uncomfortably close and staring at her silently with a slightly sinister look, especially under the dim hospital lights, making him seem like a demon crawled up from hell.

Feeling nauseous and unnerved by Eastonโ€™s intense gaze, Ellis decided to wait in the restroom. The scumbag could freely enter any restroom at the Hudson mansion, but this was not the mansion, and the hospital restrooms were gender-segregated, blocking his entry.

Hearing no vomiting sounds, Ellis stayed in the womenโ€™s restroom, clearly to avoid him. Easton, annoyed, checked his watch and commanded, โ€œEllis, come out!โ€

Playing deaf was effective; Ellis fully appreciated the satisfaction Easton used to get from it. Ignoring someone annoying was the best strategy. Watching him desperately try to get her attention while she ignored him was strangely satisfying, like effortlessly tormenting him.

However, without her phone to check the time, she couldnโ€™t gauge how long to stay inside. But the scumbag was one step ahead.

He hadnโ€™t come in, but he had sent someone to fetch her from the restroom. Seeing Easton standing at the door, she unconsciously scowled, her gaze shifting away, her face clearly displaying her disgust and loathing.

โ€œWhy not stay in the restroom forever? Donโ€™t you like it?โ€

Easton resumed his high ground to mock her, and Ellis, unable to bear it any longer, threw a punch at him. This time, Easton didnโ€™t indulge her. He caught her fist accurately and yanked her toward him.

Caught off balance, Ellis stumbled into his sturdy embrace. Smelling the familiar scent of the scumbag, she immediately backed away. But then, her waist was gripped tightly.

Unable to move, she snapped, โ€œWhat are you doing? This is the entrance to the womenโ€™s restroom. Do you want to be seen as a pervert harassing women? Mr. Hudson, are you aiming to make the evening news?โ€

โ€œStay put until the results are out.โ€

โ€œWhoโ€™s causing trouble? Youโ€™re the one causing trouble!โ€

โ€œArenโ€™t you tired today? Every time you see me, you just keep losing your temper!โ€ Easton was tired on her behalf; could she not stay calm and not glare at him for just a moment?
