Chapter 210: Unwanted Guest

Maya followed closely behind Ellis, both keeping an eye on Easton through the video doorbell screen, watching for any sudden movements and preparing a response plan as quickly as possible. However, Easton didn't move an inch. He stood patiently, as if waiting for something. After checking the door, Ellis wasnโ€™t quite sure how likely it was that Easton wouldnโ€™t find a way to open it.

Seeing Mayaโ€™s tense and serious expression, Ellis patted her elbow and said, โ€œDonโ€™t be so nervous. He probably has nothing better to do in the middle of the night and just wants to come here to do something ridiculous and then leave when he realizes heโ€™s not welcome.โ€

โ€œNo, girl! Your ex-husband is acting like a psycho. Arenโ€™t you scared?โ€

โ€œWell, he does seem a bit psycho.โ€ Ellis suddenly felt that the term perfectly described Eastonโ€™s recent behavior and increasingly erratic mental state. โ€œScared? Not really. Just annoyed.โ€

Earlier that day, I had been hit by Eastonโ€™s so-called โ€œfirst love.โ€ There were no visible marks, but my scalp still hurt from the force of Victoriaโ€™s grip. I had been holding back the anger all day. If that scumbag dared to provoke me again, I would make sure to return the pain she had suffered at the hands of Victoria, doubled.

โ€œSo, what should we do?โ€ Maya asked. Neither of us was physically strong. If Easton really acted like a lunatic, how would we handle it?

โ€œIgnore him,โ€ Ellis replied without hesitation.

โ€œEastonโ€ฆโ€ Maya had barely uttered a word when the doorbell rang again. โ€œItโ€™s so loud.โ€ Letting Easton keep ringing the doorbell was indeed loud.

After a moment of thought, Ellis turned around and went back to her room. Seeing Ellis walk away, Maya followed her. โ€œShould I handle this myself?โ€

Ellis dialed a number and said, โ€œNo, Iโ€™ll call the property management company to have them evict him. The property fees were so high, they couldnโ€™t just sit around and do nothing. It was time for them to solve the residentsโ€™ problems.โ€

Maya was about to agree with Ellisโ€™s plan, but then she thought of something else. Her eyes darted around before she said, โ€œIf property management was useful, Easton wouldnโ€™t have been able to enter the complex at all, let alone come to our floor.โ€

โ€œGood point.โ€ Ellis hung up the phone before the property manager could answer. For a moment, neither of them could think of a better solution, and both frowned in frustration. Was this scumbag a piece of sticky gum? So annoying!

Ellis cursed him in her heart and walked back to the front door. She tapped the screen of the video doorbell a few times. The video doorbell wasnโ€™t just for watching the outside; it also had an intercom function, so she could talk to whoever was outside. She really didnโ€™t want to have to deal with that scumbag, but if he kept ringing the doorbell, it would be no different than a noise attack.

โ€œItโ€™s the middle of the night! Donโ€™t you have anything better to do than come here and act crazy, disturbing peopleโ€™s sleep? Are you out of your mind?โ€

When Easton heard the familiar, contemptuous voice of a woman, he noticed the intercom. At that moment, Ellis inside the house was definitely watching him through the screen.

โ€œI saw the video that Maya sent,โ€ he said, looking directly at the camera as if Ellis were standing right in front of him. The somber expression he had worn earlier at the Sunshine Estates unconsciously softened. โ€œAre you okay?โ€

Chapter 210: Unwanted Guest

Every time I encountered this man, my manners seemed to get worse. I'm really afraid that one day I would become a short-tempered, ill-mannered person.

โ€œWhether Iโ€™m okay or not has nothing to do with you. Donโ€™t pretend to care!โ€ She pursed her lips. โ€œGo take care of Victoria and make sure she doesnโ€™t go crazy like you. And get out of here right now!โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re yelling at me with so much energy. It seems like youโ€™re fine.โ€

Ellis was speechless.

โ€œIโ€™m leaving. Go back to sleep.โ€

In truth, Easton didnโ€™t want to leave just yet. But Ellisโ€™s words made it clear that she wouldnโ€™t open the door for him. Since he couldnโ€™t see her and she had made it clear that he was disturbing her sleep, it would be pointless to stay any longer.

The tall, thin figure on the screen gradually disappeared, and Ellis couldnโ€™t help but raise an eyebrow. She wanted to continue cursing him, but once again, he had come for no reason and left when he realized he wasnโ€™t welcome.

Maya looked surprised. โ€œYour ex-husband acted like a psycho, didnโ€™t he? And he just left like that!โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s being completely ridiculous right now?โ€ Ellis let out a small yawn. โ€œLetโ€™s sleep.โ€ Now that the scumbag was gone, she still had to work tomorrow. Nothing was more important than getting some sleep.

However, Maya wasnโ€™t as calm as Ellis. She stood in front of the screen for several minutes, making sure that Easton hadnโ€™t reappeared before finally feeling calm enough to go back to bed.

Meanwhile, Easton didnโ€™t immediately head for the main gate of the complex after exiting the elevator. He glanced back, then stared at the dimly lit path in front of him. A strange yet slightly satisfying feeling began to form in his heart. This feeling came from hearing Ellisโ€™s voice. Even though he couldnโ€™t see her, he was aware that she was close by, close enough to see, close enough to touch.
