Why did these words sound familiar to him? Kenneth was in a mess. Dumbfounded and disbelieving, he asked, “Did your master really say that?”

The servant nodded. “Yes. Please leave.”

Kenneth gritted his teeth. “In that case, I can’t leave. Although I don’t know how I offended Miracle Healer, please help me convey the message.”

The servant relayed the message again. Tiffany, initially unwilling to see Kenneth, reconsidered. There were many ways to anger him; this method was unnecessary. She relented, saying, “Let him in.”

Kenneth arrived a few minutes later. It was his first time meeting Miracle Healer. He'd imagined a senior figure, not a pretty seventeen- or eighteen-year-old girl. Stunned, he said, “Senior—no, Miss Wood. Nice to meet you.”

Tiffany glanced at him casually. “What’s the matter?”

Kenneth went straight to the point. “A friend was accidentally burned. I’ve always heard of Miracle Healer. Miss Wood, you even have amazing skills—you can revive the dead—so I’m here to ask for medicine.”

He felt he'd been sufficiently deferential. The Harper family was prestigious in Lovell City; people constantly tried to curry favor with them, unsuccessfully. Given his humble approach, Tiffany shouldn't make things difficult.

However, he was wrong. The girl on the sofa smiled faintly, her tone cold and indifferent. “Oh, it’s not a problem as long as one is alive.”

In other words, she wouldn't help.

Kenneth, a little angry—no one would remain good-natured after repeated difficulties—remained well-mannered, avoiding an outburst. “Miss Wood, how much do you want? Name your price.”

Tiffany smiled faintly. “You don’t understand human language, Mr. Harper. You can’t be so harsh.”

The familiar words triggered Kenneth's memory. Two days earlier, Sandra had desperately refused to leave the ward, demanding Tiffany's forgiveness—a thinly veiled threat! Kenneth, impatient, had then harshly reprimanded Tiffany, saying she was aggressive and unrelenting, even though Eric was fine. Tiffany had now echoed his own words. Sandra was still alive; disfigurement wasn't a major issue, as long as she wasn't dead.

Kenneth's expression was awful. He hadn't expected Miracle Healer to be so heartless and willful. He'd come to the wrong place.

“Goodbye!” said Kenneth.

“Goodbye!” replied Tiffany.

Tiffany ignored him, resuming her game. Kenneth left, seething with anger. He even glanced back at Luna Villa before driving away.

After calming down, he recalled Miracle Healer's words, finding them strangely familiar. He remembered Tiffany's mocking words from the ward two days prior: “I hope that one day, after experiencing a desperate situation, you can be generous and say such words. Everything is not bad as long as one is not dead, right?”

Kenneth's heart sank. He hadn't seen anything wrong with his attitude, only feeling uncomfortable when challenged. Only then could he empathize. Tiffany, whom he'd criticized, had felt the same discomfort.

Overwhelmed by frustration, Kenneth hammered the steering wheel, abandoning his hospital visit and going straight home.

Felicia, heartbroken by Kenneth's injury and its connection to Sandra, urged, “Kenneth, stay away from that woman! Tiffany is your fiancée!”

Kenneth looked helpless. “Mom, Tiffany broke off the engagement. How can we have such a relationship?”

Felicia contradicted herself immediately. “As long as our family disagrees, Tiffany is your fiancée, the future daughter-in-law of the Harper family! Your grandfather disagrees. You know his temper; it's non-negotiable. The Kelley family can forget about breaking off the engagement.”

“Mom…”
