The mention of Kenneth made her blush. She looked like a little girl. "Kenneth left a short while ago," she said, blushing and embarrassed. Trying to be friendly, she quietly explained, "I don't know anyone at school, so…"
"That's why Kenneth was so kind to me," she added, hoping Tiffany wouldn't misunderstand. Her explanation, however, made little sense. The entire school considered them a couple!
Tiffany smiled indifferently. "You don't need to explain. Actually, I'm happy for you."
In her previous life, Melody had been wrongly accused of murder, used as a scapegoat. She'd eventually become Mrs. Harper, surpassing Sandra in talent. Tiffany believed Melody's skills would soon convince Kenneth to break off his engagement, even if it meant defying his family. It was Tiffany's only hope for Melody's success; her own freedom from Kenneth and the difficult Romeo. She wanted to break free from him completely.
Smiling at the thought, Tiffany said sincerely, "I believe you'll be Mrs. Harper soon. Congratulations in advance." Her smile lit up the room. Her stunning beauty was unmatched in the city.
Melody was stunned, her expression complex. She felt unprecedented pressure since first meeting Tiffany—Tiffany's beauty was striking, a sensual innocence, charming yet exotic. She radiated pride and confidence. Her beauty was breathtaking and revolutionary. Such a woman was bound to captivate everyone.
Melody subconsciously clenched her fists. However, she maintained a faint smile. "I've never dared to dream of it. Even if I admit I like Kenneth, it'simpossible."
Looking up, her eyes filled with envy, she added, "You're so beautiful and from such a good family. You're the perfect wife for him."
"Don't say that," Tiffany replied. Most would feel superior after such praise, but Tiffany didn't want her name linked with Kenneth. "It's not necessarily true," she said. "As long as he likes you enough, all the problems will disappear."
With a thoughtful look, Tiffany left the school clinic. Melody remained in a daze, unsure if Tiffany's words were sincere or sarcastic. Yet, there was truth in them. Everyone aimed high.
Smiling, Melody resolved to seize any opportunity, or create one if necessary. Later, she noticed Tiffany's small bag on the chair. After checking that no one was around, she rummaged through it. Inside were cosmetics, a school badge, and a stack of manuscripts.
Curiously, Melody examined the papers. She acted brazenly, reasoning she could claim she was merely safeguarding the bag and checking its contents. Even if Tiffany returned, she would have a plausible explanation. However, Tiffany didn't return.
"She's a rich young lady; she doesn't even care if she loses an expensive bag," Melody thought, replacing everything except the manuscript. Hesitating only briefly, she photographed the manuscript instead of taking it, unlike last time when she'd taken a draft.
Last time, while cleaning Tiffany's desk, she'd found a partially written script, which she'd transcribed and circulated, receiving many inquiries from screenwriters for the continuation. She lacked the rest of the story and attempted to write it herself, but her script was rejected as inferior to her initial work.
Feeling helpless, she almost gave up until this unexpected opportunity. She felt fate was on her side.
Melody converted the photos into a Word document and sent it to the screenwriters, including Harold.
Less than two hours later, Tiffany received a call from Harold. "Miss Kelley, your classmate sent me the complete script. It's identical to the one you showed me in the library!"
"That was fast," Tiffany laughed, unsurprised. "Please propose a collaboration and meet her at school."
"Okay," Harold replied, then curiously asked, "What's the plan?"
As allies, Tiffany explained her plan to Harold. He was stunned, then exclaimed, "That's brilliant!"
Melody soon received Harold's reply. She didn't know much about Harold Lester, but his offer to meet for a personal collaboration at school demonstrated sincerity. The meeting was scheduled for the next morning.
Melody agreed. While replying, several classmates visited, including Loudspeaker, who spread information rapidly. He exclaimed about the email, drawing a crowd. The news quickly spread.
Melody, embarrassed, explained she'd written it for fun.
"You're just fooling around? I could never achieve that!" the students exclaimed, praising her talent.
Melody smiled modestly. She guessed Tiffany would hear the news soon.
