The Royal Tower's scenery was undeniably spectacular, especially from the top floor; it felt like standing among the clouds. Tiffany sipped her coffee, lazily swiveling in her chair. Suddenly, the glass door burst open. Expecting Richard, she was startled by the sound of high heels clicking on the otherwise silent, luxurious floor.
Before she could turn, a sweetly affectionate voice purred from behind, "Richard, why are you avoiding me?" The voice was undeniably captivating.
Tiffany remained silent, touching her arm before swiveling to face the newcomer. "Miss Trujillo," she said, offering an innocent smile, "long time no see."
It was Wendy. Upon seeing Tiffany, Wendy's eyes widened in shock and anger. "Why are you here?" she demanded. Confirming they were alone, she stormed to the table, slamming it. "Who allowed you to sit there? Stand up!"
Tiffany, with a nonchalant expression, simply pinched her ear. "Why? Do you want to sit here, too?"
Wendy's eyes widened. Of course, she wanted to; she'd dreamed of it. But she'd never achieved it. Without connections, she wouldn't even have been allowed into the Royal Tower, let alone Richard's office. Yet this young woman took it for granted.
"You're quite bold!" Wendy hissed, a mixture of jealousy and anger coloring her tone. "Don't you know Richard hates people touching his things? If he sees you here, you'll suffer!" A smug note crept into her voice; she'd known Richard for years.
"Oh," Tiffany replied, "I see."
"Then get lost! What are you waiting for?" Wendy sneered.
The office door opened again. A tall, imposing figure entered, radiating an aura of authority. "Who's to get lost?"
Richard looked at Wendy with disdain, his handsome face impatient, the air growing instantly frigid. Tyrone, his assistant, felt a chill run down his spine. He couldn't comprehend Wendy's presence. Sensing Richard's change in mood, he stepped forward. "Miss Trujillo, Mr. Hampton's schedule is full. Please leave."
Wendy's earlier familiarity with Richard was brutally contradicted by Tyrone's words—a slap in the face. They weren't even friends.
Wendy's face paled. "She's still here," she protested, voice laced with grievance. "Why are you chasing me away?"
"You want to know?" Richard smirked. His handsome face became even more captivating, Wendy practically mesmerized.
Then, he grabbed the chair and leaned down, kissing Tiffany.
Silence fell. Wendy's eyes widened, the sight almost suffocating her. Tyrone needed no prompting; Wendy fled the office, her sobs echoing behind her. Tyrone quickly closed the door to avoid further disruption.
Tiffany's brows furrowed. 'I really want to bite you!' she thought.
Richard chuckled, noticing her mounting fury. He stepped back, evading her attack. "You heartless girl," he said.
"Don't run!" She chased him, but he easily dodged her. He sat back in his chair, pulling her into his arms. "Bastard!" she gritted her teeth.
His warm breath hit her ear. "Don't move," he rasped. "If you move again, I can't guarantee what will happen."
Tiffany sensed a shift, blushing instantly. "Thenlet go of me" she stammered, nearly biting her tongue.
Rumors of Richard's frigid workaholism were clearly false. This man was intensely passionate in private.
The stalemate continued until Richard finally released her. The coldness in his eyes had vanished, replaced by fire. "Go," he said, clearly suppressing something.
Tiffany looked at him sympathetically. "Um, are you feeling uncomfortable? I have some pills. One will cleanse your desires." She left a vial and hurried out.
Richard shook his head helplessly. "You heartless little girl."
Tyrone was surprised to see Tiffany leaving. "Miss Kelley, why are you leaving? Worried about affecting Mr. Hampton's work?" he asked, patting his chest reassuringly. "Don't worry. I won't let anyone in! No one will disturb you two."
'What do you mean by that? What dirty thoughts are in your head?' Tiffany thought, giving him a strange look before leaving in the elevator.
Tyrone stood there, reaching a shocking conclusion. 'Is it over? So fast? Does he have that kind of problem?' he wondered. Fortunately, his boss couldn't read his mind.
Outside, many people greeted Tiffany respectfully. "Miss Kelley!" "Miss Kelley, hi!"
Tiffany was confused. She overheard a whisper, "Did you see? She's becoming Mrs. Hampton soon."
"Huh? Really? No way?"
Only two people could access the top floor without notice: Sidney and Tiffany. It was an open secret that Tiffany would be Richard's wife.
She slowed down, listening as the employees whispered. "Mr. Hampton's attitude says it all. That's why I always said Miss Trujillo was humiliating herself."
"I heard the Trujillo family tried to arrange a marriage, but they made fools of themselves"
As the last sentence faded, Tiffany left the Royal Tower. Wendy was still there, her eyes red. "Are you happy now?" she asked.
