Listen to this chapter:

Tiffany raised her eyebrows and asked, "Does this have anything to do with me?"

Wendy wiped away her tears and sneered. "Of course you're happy. If you hadn't interfered, I wouldn't"

Tiffany abruptly interrupted, "Wouldn't what? Lose hope after so many years of effort?"

She curled her lips into a casual smile. "You're too bold. But you should know that he doesn't have to reciprocate your so-called love."

These words were directed at both Wendy and herself. It was a little late for her to grasp the principle.

But Wendy took her ostensibly kind advice as a boast. "What goes around comes around. Now you seem to be the winner. Let's see how long you can be smug. Just wait!" She then left arrogantly in her high heels.

Tiffany shook her head and smiled helplessly. What trapped humans was never ambition, but obsession. Since she couldn't persuade this foolish woman, she would let her be. After all, regardless of what happened today, Wendy would continue to cause trouble for her; they had been hostile for a long time.

Thalia's headache returned. Ever since Tiffany's arrest at Sandra's wedding banquet, she'd been traumatized. She'd had a splitting headache for days; no examination revealed any physical problems. It might be psychological.

To avoid worrying her daughter, Thalia didn't mention it. One day, she went alone to Sanctuary Mountain to pray for healing.

However, halfway up, she felt dizzy. She lost her balance on the steps and fell. The height suggested a fatal fall.

Thalia felt a wave of despair. Then, a pair of hands firmly held her.

When Thalia opened her eyes, she saw a beautiful face.

"Are you alright?" the pretty girl asked with concern.

"You are?" Thalia looked surprised.

The girl had a memorable smile. Thalia realized she was the same girl who'd helped her at Sandra's wedding when she'd almost fallen.

"What a coincidence! Thank you for that day. I wanted to find you, but you'd already left. And now we meet again," Thalia smiled.

"It's nothing," the girl replied, her smile reassuring. "Are you feeling unwell? Do you need help down the mountain?"

"Thanks, but no," Thalia said. "I was just tired from climbing. Fortunately, you helped me. I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd actually fallen."

The young girl smiled and casually tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. [The sentence about searching FindNovel.net is removed as it is promotional material.]

Thalia asked, "May I know your name?"

"My name is Melody Princeton." She smiled faintly.

Thalia nodded. "That's a lovely name."

Unexpectedly, Melody added, "I'm your daughter's classmate."

"What? Really?" Thalia exclaimed. "Are you also going up the mountain? Would you like to come with me? Afterward, you can come to my house for dinner. I want to thank you again."

"Okay," Melody nodded.

Sanctuary Mountain offered spectacular scenery. Many believed prayers offered there were answered, so people often visited during difficult times.

While making a wish, Melody curiously asked, "What did you wish for?"

Thalia closed her eyes. "I just wish for my husband and daughter's well-being."

"That's similar to my wish," Melody replied. "I hope my family and the one I love are safe and happy always." She closed her eyes and prayed sincerely, a sweet smile appearing on her lips as she seemed to think of someone.

Thalia opened her eyes and asked, "The one you love? Your boyfriend?"

"Yes," Melody nodded.

"Is he Kenneth Harper?" Thalia tilted her head.

"Yes," Melody smiled, lowering her head shyly.

"He's a good man," Thalia said.

At Sandra's wedding, Thalia had noticed Kenneth with a female companion, treating her like a treasure. That girl was the one who'd helped her twice.

But Thalia considered it fortunate. Such a fickle man didn't deserve her daughter.

After leaving the mountain, Thalia invited Melody home. "It's Sunday; Tiffany's home. You're classmates and must have much to talk about."

Thalia drove Melody to Cedar Ridge Villa.

Seeing the luxurious villa, Melody exclaimed, "Your house is amazing!" Her innocent expression made her sincerity evident. Thalia found her delightful.

In the large living room, Tiffany and her brother, Eric, were playing with Rubik's Cubes and enjoying desserts.

"Let me show you!" Eric said, expertly manipulating the cube.

Hearing footsteps, Tiffany looked up. "Mom, you're back. Why didn't you let me—" She paused, seeing Melody.

Tiffany raised her eyebrows. Thalia explained the afternoon's events, expressing her gratitude.

"Since you're here, you're our guest. Melody, please sit," Tiffany said, instructing a servant to provide Melody with juice and dessert.

"Thank you," Melody replied softly. "It was nothing; anyone would have helped."

"Still, thank you so much," Thalia said, smiling. She then went to take her medication, reminding her children, "Please entertain our guest."

"We know," they replied in unison.

Alone on the sofa, Melody patted Eric's head. "He's so cute."

Eric, who disliked being touched, dodged away. "Cute is for children. I prefer to be called handsome."

His narcissism mirrored his sister's.
