Chapter 337

Tiffany's youth led others to underestimate her strength. However, Victor and his butler, both older men with keen judgment, saw past her appearance. A trace of admiration flickered in their eyes. They mused, "The younger generation will surpass us in time."

Tiffany smiled, sat on the sofa, and went straight to the point. "Mr. Ashton," she asked, "what medicine do you seek?"

Even without Victor stating it, she knew he desired the life-extending pills. The old man appeared clear-headed and energetic, his eyes bright, yet his aura was weak, his steps unsteady. He was dying.

As expected, Victor raised a hand, and his butler announced, "I hear Miracle Healer possesses life-extending pills."

"Indeed," Tiffany replied, producing a small bottle. "There are ten. Take one when your body feels unable to cope."

Her forthright generosity stunned Victor and his butler. They hadn't anticipated such directness, no conditions or exorbitant demands. The pills were offered immediately. They were incredulous.

The butler, who had inquired about the price beforehand and prepared a large check for Tiffany's anticipated high cost, was speechless. Tiffany's immediate offer left them dumbfounded.

Victor, after a moment's surprise, smiled. "Girl, aren't you afraid I'll renege after taking the medicine?"

"That won't happen," Tiffany replied gently. "A family like the Ashtons wouldn't default on a debt of mere millions, would they?" In truth, Victor owed her far more.

Months earlier, Tiffany, brought to Traron City by Philip, had saved Victor's life during a chance encounter with Richard. She hadn't revealed her identity or asked for anything in return. This incident remained unknown.

Now, Victor's request, coupled with his previous debt, influenced her pricing. Millions were a mere trifle to him.

The butler immediately wrote a check. Tiffany glanced at it; the amount was ten million dollars.

Chapter 337

Victor's generosity was evident. Tiffany saw him to the door with a smile. The butler assisted Victor into the car. Before their departure, Tiffany overheard their conversation.

"Mr. Ashton, you must hold on," urged the butler.

"I will," Victor replied. "I haven't found my granddaughter yet. I must see her alive; otherwise, I can't rest in peace."

"Don't say that, Mr. Ashton! You'll live long! Don't say such things again!" the butler exclaimed.

The imposing motorcade slowly drove away. Tiffany stood there, holding the ten-million-dollar check, feeling a twinge of unease. She had saved Victor's life on a previous occasion, but his condition was far worse than necessary, suggesting something more than just his age was at play.

June, seemingly sensing her confusion, explained, "Mr. Ashton is dying. Members of the Ashton family are poised to act. Who wouldn't want a larger share of the family assets?"

They were eager for his demise to claim their inheritance.

Tiffany sighed. "Prominent families are so complicated."

"That's nothing. There's moreโ€ฆ" June began, then abruptly stopped, realizing a mistake.

Tiffany didn't press further, turning to Jeremy. "Lord Cooper, let's go home."

En route to the Kelley family home, she removed her mask and messaged Yvonne: [How's it going?]

Yvonne's swift reply was [No progress], a blatant lie in Tiffany's estimation. Knowing Melody's nature, Tiffany anticipated imminent action, possibly in collusion with Yvonne. Yvonne's quick defection seemed orchestrated.

Meanwhile, Melody returned from school, showing Yvonne a bouquet. "Doesn't it look good? My boyfriend gave it to me!" Her eyes gleamed whenever she mentioned Kenneth.

Yvonne nodded perfunctorily, "It's not bad."

Compared to superficial displays, Yvonne preferred power and control. Melody, dissatisfied, procured more than ten vases and meticulously arranged the flowers, filling the villa with their fragrance.

Yvonne felt helpless. "If you have time for this," she said, "why not focus on eliminating your enemy and securing your position?" She couldn't leave Tiffany alive, but Tiffany's control prevented rash action, forcing her to rely on Melody. Her fabricated report on monitoring Melody was a desperate gamble.

Melody giggled, placing the last vase. "I have a plan," she said, a glint in her eyes.

"What is it?" Yvonne asked.

"I'll injure myself," Melody replied.

"How?" Yvonne asked, bewildered.

"You'll hit me with your car tomorrow night," Melody said confidently.

Yvonne was stunned. "Are you crazy?"

"I'm not crazy." Melody turned, her back appearing small yet fierce. Seeing Yvonne's festering wounds the previous night, she had devised her plan: force the Kelleys to acknowledge her as their daughter to secure her position and finally challenge Tiffany.

"Why not hit Tiffany? Why get yourself hit? Are you stupid?" Yvonne asked.

Melody's expression was resolute. "Just do as I say. I have my reasons!"

Yvonne, after some consideration, agreed. Unharmed herself, she would comply.
