Garry, at his computer, tapped furiously at the keyboard. Highly pleased with his threatening message, he called Richard. “Richard, I’m warning your restless niece. I’m sure she’ll be traumatized! Given how awesome I am, will I get a reward?”
Richard, whose kiss was interrupted by the call, offered an insincere smile. “Yes. Don’s daughter would like to reward you. How about that?”
Don was the Hampton Manor’s butler. His daughter was exceptionally strong and burly. She drooled whenever she saw Garry. Richard, considering this, thought they were a perfect match.
“No!” Garry’s face paled. He immediately recognized the inappropriateness of his call and Mr. Hampton's resulting irritation. To ensure his safety, he frantically begged, “I’m sorry. I won’t do it again!” The call ended.
Richard tossed the phone aside, casually lifting a strand of Tiffany’s hair. His voice was hoarse. “Call out now, okay?” Tiffany, angry and annoyed, shoved him. “Hey…”
He whisked her from school to his car. Despite the privacy curtain in the luxury vehicle, the chauffeur sat in front. Tiffany, blushing, huddled in the backseat, unable to resist his advances. She gritted her teeth and whispered, “Honey…”
Richard leaned closer. “What did you say?”
Closing her eyes, Tiffany gritted her teeth and said, a little louder this time, “Honey!”
Her eyes widened; her face burned. Richard, however, was stunned. Surprise registered in his eyes. “Babe, I didn’t ask you to call me that.”
“Then what did you want me to call out?” Tiffany asked.
“I wanted you to call John to get in the car,” Richard replied.
Tiffany was speechless, instantly regretful. Stunned with anger, she nearly knocked him into the back seat in her haste to get up.
Richard spread his hands. “You can touch me however you want.” He meant it.
Tiffany narrowed her eyes. “Dream on!”
She started to leave, but his hands locked onto her waist, preventing her escape. “Hey…” Tiffany protested.
“I liked how you called out to me,” Richard murmured, his voice growing husky with a pleasant laugh. “Honey. Do you like that?”
Before she could answer, he kissed her gently.
“Yeah, because you’re mine,” Tiffany murmured.
The car’s atmosphere grew charged. John, left outside in the cold, wondered, “Why haven’t they called me to get in the car yet?”
Tiffany returned home in a daze—a lightness in her step, a feeling she’d never known before. She hadn't expected this from Richard.
Stepping from the car, rosy-cheeked, she found her villa overflowing with large, exquisitely crafted, red wooden boxes. They were piled high across the floor.
“Where did these come from?” Tiffany asked, blinking.
Lucy chuckled. “They’re from Mr. Hampton. Wedding gifts!”
At “wedding gifts,” Tiffany opened a box to reveal rare antiques. Another held three long-lost masterpieces, priceless beyond measure. Box after box contained treasures of immeasurable value, perfectly suited to Charlie’s taste.
Lucy added, “Mrs. Kelley and I couldn’t believe it this morning. Mr. Hampton is so thoughtful, so meticulous.” It was clearly a carefully orchestrated plan.
Tiffany realized Richard had likely planned this proposal for a considerable time, anticipating her acceptance. How else could these gifts arrive in just two days? She found him incredibly strategic.
Tiffany closed a box. Thalia emerged, waving. “Tiffany, come here. I need to tell you something.”
“Coming,” Tiffany replied, following Thalia into the room. Thalia produced a folder.
“What is this?” Tiffany asked.
“You’ll know when you open it,” Thalia responded.
Tiffany opened the folder; a card and document spilled onto the bed. The document, signed in Richard’s bold, elegant handwriting, transferred all of his assets to her name. The sheer scale of his wealth was staggering. It was a wedding gift exceeding all the others combined. Richard, the powerful CEO, was essentially marrying Tiffany with his entire fortune.
Thalia confessed, “I was shocked this morning. I knew Richard liked you, but not this…”
“Mom, but I don’t want this,” Tiffany said.
Thalia patted her hand, relief evident in her eyes. “Your father worried, but now we can both stop. The man who will adore our daughter has arrived.”
Tiffany nodded. Later, she called Richard. “Don’t you know how terrifying this is to me?”
Richard chuckled. “To me, it’s not enough.” He wanted to give her the best; he would give her everything.
