Chapter 410

The very thought made Morwen tremble uncontrollably. If the princess recognized her, what would become of her, the Saintess? In the face of supreme power, everything she possessed would be meaningless! What did it matter to be a Saintess? Ultimately, she was still just a servant of the royal family.

Moreover, during the turmoil thirteen years ago, when the princess stepped forward to calm the subjects, Morwen had attempted to end her life with a vase. She only succeeded in injuring the princess, causing profuse bleeding.

At that moment, a servant risked everything to rush in and save the five-year-old princess, taking her away along with the Treasure Box. Both vanished without a trace.

Morwen had relentlessly pursued the princess, convinced she wouldn't survive. Reports from her subordinates confirmed the princess, who had escaped the chaos, was presumed dead.

Relieved, Morwen ascended within the Azure Sea Royal Family, achieving a status almost equal to a princess.

But now, the nightmare returned. Morwen wondered why the princess had returned, trembling with a mixture of fear and anger.

Two nearby maids quickly wrapped her in a blanket, asking with concern, “Miss Xanthus, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

“Did you see her?” Morwen asked.

“Who?” the maid asked, puzzled. “Are you talking about the young lady from the Kelley family? I saw her, but is something wrong?”

Morwen thought, Why is Miss Kelley’s arrival so unsettling to the usually composed Miss Xanthus?

She paused, momentarily taken aback. She remembered the princess's face vividly—even after thirteen years—because she had served her for several years. That familiarity ensured instant recognition.

Besides, no matter how many years passed or how much a person changed, the princess's striking elegance had only grown more captivating. It was an innate, unreplicable nobility radiating from within.

Yet, others wouldn't recognize her. They weren't familiar with her. After thirteen years, the delicate five-year-old had blossomed into a strikingly beautiful eighteen-year-old. Unless they were close family, recognition would be unlikely.

But that very thought struck Morwen. She pondered, “That's right, the princess of the Azure Sea Royal Family, the sole heir to the throne; how could she be the Kelley family's daughter in Lovell City? Is it a coincidence? Or are they two remarkably similar people, and I've made a mistake?”

Snapping out of her shock, Morwen ordered her subordinates, “Investigate Miss Kelley. I want a complete record of her life, from childhood to the present!”

“Yes, Miss Xanthus!”

As she finished giving her orders, the car stopped before a Eukiman villa in the hills, five miles from Royal Bay. Surrounded by mountains, the scenery was breathtaking. Morwen glanced around, pleased. It was the property she had arranged to purchase before her arrival.

The Azure Sea Royal Family was renowned for its collection of rare plants and herbs. In terms of wealth, it rivaled Richard. However, its influence had diminished after years of withdrawal and internal conflict, making it somewhat inferior to the all-powerful Richard. Nevertheless, as the revered Saintess, she was the most suitable match for Richard. Their union would strengthen them both, if no one interfered. Morwen's eyes darkened slightly.

Shortly after she sat down, a subordinate brought documents, placing them before her. “Miss Xanthus, everything you requested is here.”

Tiffany was undoubtedly a figure of interest in Lovell City. Initially known for pursuing her foolish fiancé, she later became the city's most beautiful woman and was famously proposed to by Richard, as the adopted daughter of the Kelley family. These facts were readily available, making the investigation straightforward.

Morwen read line by line, her heart sinking. The records were detailed, but the lack of photographs before age five was suspiciously convenient.

According to the Kelleys, Tiffany was their birth daughter, but she wasn't raised with them until age five. At that time, their business was in its early stages, so no one paid much attention. However, the recent Kelley family recognition banquet on the cruise raised questions about Tiffany's identity, and an identification report confirmed she wasn't their biological child.

This implied Tiffany was officially adopted at age five. It meant she was the missing princess of the Azure Sea Royal Family. Morwen's face paled. A five-year-old could remember many things, including the shattered vase and the attempted assassination.

She thought, Does Tiffany Kelley remember it all? The file slipped from her hands, scattering on the floor as her eyes grew vacant.

Just then, she received a video call from the king. Morwen quickly composed herself, answering with a faint smile and a respectful, “Your Majesty.”

The king's hair was gray; his face showed his age and weariness, though his spirit remained strong. After a cough, he commanded, “Since you've arrived in Lovell City, have you heard anything about the princess?”

Morwen bowed respectfully. “No.” She hadn't heard or seen anything and would ensure it remained that way.

The king's familiar numbness and disappointment were evident upon hearing her response. He said nothing more and ended the call.

Morwen sighed in relief. Turning to her maids and subordinates, she warned, “Today, I ordered an investigation into that Kelley girl. This information must not be shared with anyone. Do you understand?” They nodded, replying, “Understood!” In Lovell City, as the esteemed Saintess, Morwen held the highest status; her subordinates had no choice but to obey.

After the order, Morwen settled back onto the sofa. The king's advanced age meant the Azure Sea Royal Family was frantic in its search for the missing princess, eagerly awaiting her return to the throne. She couldn't let her efforts go to waste. After a long moment, Morwen made up her mind. “Someone…”
