Chapter 434
Tiffany thought, "No, I can't just stand by and watch this happen." She hurriedly turned around, intending to return to the car, but she tripped. The fall reopened seventeen knife wounds on her leg. Blood trickled down, but she felt no pain. Gripping Zoe's hand, she said, "Get me in the car. Take me to the car." Zoe said, "Tiffany…"
A pang of heartache pierced her; it felt as if her heart were bleeding. Abbie helped Tiffany into the car and asked, "Where are we going?"
"Luna Villa," Tiffany replied.
Back at Luna Villa, Tiffany searched through the cabinets, sniffing and examining glass bottles of various sizes. She remembered a medicine she had refined long ago, a whim she'd dismissed as useless. After all, few people fell into a deep hypnotic sleep. Now, she needed to find it.
June hurried to the basement. Seeing the mess, she asked, "Miss Kelley, what are you looking for?"
"Where's the medicine I refined? The red one, number seven. Where is it?" Tiffany demanded.
June replied, "Miss Kelley… that medicine was sold two months ago…"
Tiffany's hand paused mid-search. "It was sold?"
Yes. Two months ago, June had inquired, saying someone from Medicinal Haven requested it. Tiffany, deeming it useless, had readily agreed to the sale. Now, it was gone. Even if she wanted to refine it again, the rare medicinal herbs were depleted.
Tiffany stood up unsteadily. "Where can I find the Eternal Herb?" she asked. It was the crucial ingredient.
June answered, "Only the Azure Sea Royal Family possesses it. They don't trade with outsiders, and I heard it's extinct."
The Eternal Herb was toxic, a deadly weapon, yet it also possessed remarkably rare life-saving properties.
Tiffany's heart sank, then she raised her head. Unwavering determination filled her lifeless eyes. "I'm leaving immediately," she declared.
"Where to?"
"The Azure Sea Royal Family."
Half an hour later, Tiffany and June boarded a helicopter. Zoe and Abbie wanted to accompany them, but Tiffany refused. The Azure Sea Royal Family had been isolated for years; there might be danger, and she didn't want them to risk a prolonged absence.
The helicopter lifted off from Luna Villa's open space. Zoe worried, "Tiffany can't see. I'm worried something will happen…"
Abbie sighed. "Even if we went, we'd be no help. It's best if we don't hinder her."
Zoe agreed. "Let's go," Abbie said. "Tiffany asked us to check on her family at Cedar Ridge Villa. That will ease her mind."
They drove to Cedar Ridge Villa. Tiffany had called home before leaving, confirming her parents and brother had returned safely, though still asleep. She didn't trust Felix, so she asked Zoe and Abbie to check on them.
The situation wasn't as bad as she feared. Soon after Zoe and Abbie arrived, Charlie and his wife awoke. They vaguely remembered the engagement party but had a gap in their memory after arriving at the hotel. They couldn't explain it. Eric woke crying, his neck bruised. "Who did this?" Charlie raged.
The servants only knew that hotel waiters had returned them home. Charlie called the hotel and learned about the events following the engagement party. He then saw the news: media outlets were slandering Tiffany, claiming she'd murdered Richard and fled. Some even alleged she'd been caught cheating and killed him in a fit of rage. A headline screamed, "Vicious Woman."
Charlie's vision blurred with rage. "Who dared to slander my daughter? I'll hold them legally accountable!"
After venting, he learned Tiffany's friends were waiting. He rushed downstairs, desperate for answers. He couldn't reach Tiffany by phone.
Zoe and Abbie explained that Tiffany needed time alone to relax and would return in a few days. This was Tiffany's instruction. They concealed her blindness and her trip to the Azure Sea Royal Family.
Charlie was suspicious but eventually believed them. He felt heartbroken and worried. "Even if she's upset, she should come home. That silly girl…" His eyes welled up.
Abbie was surprised by Charlie's devotion to his family. Remembering their mission, she asked, "Charlie, is Mrs. Kelley alright? I heard you were all sent back unconscious."
