Chapter 435
Abbie and Zoe attended the engagement party but had little interaction with Charlie and were unaware of the events that unfolded. Charlie nodded ambiguously, replying, “I think so.” That’s what the servants, and others, had told him. However, he couldn’t remember fainting. It was as if a portion of his memory was missing; he couldn't recall it no matter how hard he tried.
Abbie and Zoe exchanged a puzzled glance. "Charlie," Abbie asked, "do you remember seeing anyone before you fainted?"
"I don't remember," Charlie replied, shaking his head. He then asked, "Those people said Tiffany stabbed Richard. Is that true?"
"Well…" Zoe nodded. "That's what everyone's saying."
Charlie almost cursed, but thought better of it. "This can't be true," he said. As a father, he instinctively defended his daughter. However, the uncontrollable rumors and the vile things people were saying enraged him.
Zoe and Abbie offered brief words of comfort before departing. Outside the villa, Zoe sighed softly. "I wonder if Tiffany received my message." Her message truthfully described the situation with the Kelley family, assuring Tiffany that her family was safe.
Abbie patted her shoulder. "Let's get in the car."
As they were leaving, Kenneth rushed from the roadside. Zoe exclaimed in surprise, "What are you doing here?"
"Where's Tiffany?" Kenneth demanded.
Zoe's face hardened. "What are you trying to do?"
Kenneth had spent the engagement party alone in the hotel bar, falling asleep afterward. Upon waking, he learned of the party's disruption and the rumor of Tiffany injuring Richard. He raced to the Kelley home to confirm Tiffany's safety.
Seeing Kenneth about to enter the villa, Zoe called out, "Stop! Tiffany isn't here, and you shouldn't be here." Rumors already circulated that Tiffany had been seen meeting a secret lover; the lover's identity remained unknown, but Tiffany's past pursuit of Kenneth fueled malicious speculation. Kenneth's presence at the Kelley home would devastate Tiffany's reputation.
Kenneth turned. "You know where she is, right?"
"Why should I tell you?" Zoe retorted. "Tiffany's flown away. Are you going to chase after her?" She silently added, even if he did, he wouldn't catch her.
Kenneth pressed again, "Where has Tiffany gone?"
Irritated, Zoe finally said, "The Azure Sea Royal Family's place. Satisfied?"
Kenneth nodded his thanks and departed. Watching his retreating figure, Zoe was stunned. "He's actually going to look for her?"
Abbie shook her head. "He probably won't go that far…" Then, she smiled. "Though, maybe he will."
The two women left, unaware that Morwen's people were monitoring the villa entrance. Hearing that Tiffany had gone to the Azure Sea Royal Family, Morwen leaped from her chair in shock. "What?" she gasped. She suspected Tiffany had discovered something, perhaps even her true identity, and returned to claim her birthright. The thought of Tiffany potentially seizing the throne, rendering her years of planning useless, filled Morwen with anxiety. Her gaze hardening, she made a decision: "Intercept and kill," she muttered. "Mobilize everyone. This is your last chance. Fail, and don't bother coming back to me." Her subordinates acknowledged her order and departed.
Meanwhile, several unmarked black sedans converged near the Harper family manor, parking inconspicuously. They planned to strike that night. With Richard unconscious, no one could prevent the impending chaos. Felix, in the back of one car, tapped his fingers impatiently. "Strike at midnight," he instructed. "Avoid detection. If discovered, eliminate the Harper family entirely." Lorenzo eagerly agreed, relishing his impending revenge on the Harper "princess" who had humiliated him.
Unaware of the unfolding events in Lovell City, Tiffany pressed onward to the Azure Sea Royal Family. However, her anxiety seemed to invite misfortune. Three hours into her flight, a helicopter malfunction forced a landing in a desolate valley, far from any city. June, Tiffany's companion, reported their situation.
Tiffany nodded. "It's too late. Let's stay here tonight." June sent the pilot and two subordinates to find lodging in a nearby village. They soon returned, reporting a hospitable family willing to host them.
Tiffany and June joined them for a simple dinner before retiring for the night. The pilot, subordinates, and June shared a room, while Tiffany and June shared another. Lying on the damp bed, Tiffany suddenly…
