Chapter 447

Tiffany's cute gesture stunned her. Kenneth, paralyzed on the ground, was even more dumbfounded. Recalling a summer school trial—a mountain encounter with a tiger—everyone expected Tiffany to be eaten. Instead, the tiger had acted cute. Now, this adult black bear was doing the same!

Tiffany blinked. Sensing no danger, she concluded the bear was harmless and put away her switchblade. Slowly squatting, she patted its cute head. Unexpectedly, the bear cried, tears falling onto her hands. It grunted and made low sounds, seemingly acting cute or communicating.

This feeling felt inexplicably familiar, stunning Tiffany. The memory was blurry, yet undeniably real. Dismissing it as imagination seemed unreasonable; she had to have experienced this before. How else could she have so easily navigated the Treasure Pavilion's maze and trap-filled chessboard? Despite searching her memories, she found no answer and gave up, petting the bear's head again. The bear rolled and whined.

Behind them, Kenneth, using the wall for support, stood. He stared at the scene, exclaiming, "This bear it seems to know you."

While it felt that way, the notion of familiarity was fantastical. Impossible, really.

Tiffany smiled. "Are you okay? Why don't you rest here while I go to the last level?"

"Together," Kenneth insisted, pushing through the pain. It was the last level; he wanted to see it through with her. He wouldn't have another chance once they left the Treasure Pavilion and Azure Sea Royal Family.

Tiffany, hearing his labored breathing, helped him. Their situations mirrored each other—one blind, the other immobile—a tragic pairing. They reached the ninth-floor stairs, the black bear trailing closely behind. As Tiffany prepared to leave, it gently tugged at her clothes, reluctant to let go. Tiffany turned, smiling gently. "See you again, little guy," she said.

The bear watched her leave, seemingly understanding. This was the final level. Reaching it meant obtaining the herbs and leaving. Tiffany sighed in relief.

Outside, three assassins stared at the closed door, exchanging confused glances. "Didn't they say this was a death door? That she'd encounter a dangerous, crazed black bear? But why is it so quiet inside?"

"Should we check it out?"

"What if it's dangerous?"
