Chapter 448

Subordinates lined up in two rows to greet her. "Miss Xanthus," they murmured as she descended, bowing in unison.

Morwen raised her chin, calmly brushing stray hair behind her ear. "Is there any news? Where is the little girl's corpse?"

Her trusted subordinates exchanged glances, hesitant to answer.

Morwen's expression froze. "She's not dead?"

"No…" a subordinate replied cautiously. "We tried our best. The Treasure Pavilion's highest-difficulty trap was activated, but she found each level too easy." This was not the answer Morwen wanted.

Before boarding her private plane in Lovell City, she'd instructed them to kill Tiffany in the Treasure Pavilion. No matter what, Tiffany was not to leave alive.

After a three-hour flight, she expected everything to go according to plan, but

"Useless! Good-for-nothing trash!" she spat.

Morwen's face paled. "Isn't there a maze? Isn't there a huge black bear? That little bitch Tiffany passed them both?"

Her subordinates hung their heads. Their voices barely audible, they stammered, "She navigated the maze easily. The black bear it seemed to recognize her. It didn't attack; it acted cute." Morwen's expression shifted.

Over a decade ago, the royal family's little princess often played in the Treasure Pavilion. She even raised that bear.

Though years had altered the princess's appearance beyond recognition, the notoriously aggressive bear instantly recognized Tiffany—its former owner. This meant Tiffany had to die.

A ruthless glint flashed in Morwen's eyes. "Where is she now?"

"Cleared the pavilion. En route to the palace for her reward," a subordinate reported.

"What?" Morwen panicked, abandoning her composure and rushing towards the Azure Sea Royal Family's Palace.

Tiffany walked, a gentle tug on her rope guiding her. Worried, she asked, "How's your injury? Let's go to the hospital."

"No," Kenneth shook his head, sensing her anxiety. She wanted her belongings and to return to Lovell City, to Richard. She'd rushed from the Treasure Pavilion; he couldn't be a burden.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. Let's hurry. We'll get the things and leave," Kenneth smiled. "We'll reach Lovell City tomorrow morning."

Tiffany nodded, scrutinizing him. "How do you know I'm going to Lovell City?"

Kenneth's expression faltered; he'd made a mistake.

Tiffany's smile turned cold. "I never told you that, did I?"

Kenneth, a poor liar, stammered. He couldn't think of an excuse. I was careless, he thought, making Tiffany suspicious. He wanted to slap himself. Unexpectedly, Tiffany tugged the rope. "Let's go."

"You still doubt me?" Kenneth blurted. "In the valley, I saw the helicopter you fell from. It had the Lovell City logo, so I guessed." The excuse was perfect. He breathed a sigh of relief.

Tiffany nodded. "Alright, let's go."

Did that dispel her suspicions? he wondered, remaining silent as Micheal led them forward.

Micheal paused. "This way."

The palace loomed closer. Minutes later, the magnificent structure awed even Kenneth, accustomed to wealth. "It's beautiful."

The immense palace, with its intricate relief sculptures, was breathtaking.

Micheal stopped them outside. "Wait. I'll report."

"Thank you."

Micheal entered.

Azure Sea King, intending to rest, heard Micheal's report: the Treasure Pavilion challengers had arrived for their reward. He was surprised; he'd expected it to take days.

Micheal explained, "Your Majesty, the pair I mentioned. The girl is blind, and she broke the record! Amazing!"

"Oh?" Azure Sea King was intrigued. "Let them in."

"Yes!" As Micheal turned, a report arrived: "Your Majesty, Miss Xanthus is here."

He'd sent Morwen to Lovell City on another mission. "Call her in," the King commanded.

Two minutes later, Morwen entered, her smile bright. "Your Majesty."

Privately, she was considered a princess, and granddaughter, by the Azure Sea King. Especially since the little princess's disappearance, he'd showered her with affection.

Morwen approached, her greeting intimate, innocent, and charming.

A smile touched the King's stern face, but he remembered Morwen's mission. "How did it go? Did you find anything?" He referred to his missing granddaughter.

Morwen gritted her teeth. She'd just returned, and he immediately asked about Tiffany
