Chapter 505

Victor trembled, his breath quickening. Even his usually dull eyes shone with sudden light.

"Faith… It's Faith?" he whispered weakly.

Before Tiffany could react, her hand was grasped. The grip was weak, but the hope in his eyes prevented her from pulling away. She frowned slightly, looking questioningly at Samuel.

Samuel rubbed his face, composing himself before speaking. "Mr. Ashton had a younger daughter, Faith. Twenty years ago, she eloped, severing ties and never returning. For three years, he searched for her, only to discover she was gone, leaving behind a child of unknown whereabouts."

He looked at Tiffany, speaking slowly. "And you bear a striking resemblance to Ms. Ashton." The implication was clear.

Tiffany smiled, then inserted needles into Victor, sending him into a deep sleep. His vital signs were weak, but stabilized. The ward was silent except for the monitoring equipment.

"Prepare yourselves," Tiffany said slowly. "Given his condition, he may only have a few days left."

"What? Not even the spirit herbs?" Keith's eyes filled with tears. He nearly fell to his knees. "Please save Mr. Ashton!"

Tiffany shook her head. "I can't. While the spirit herbs can save lives, detoxify, and extend life, they can't defy death. The long-term poisoning has taken its toll."

"But he was fine! How could he collapse so suddenly?" Samuel exclaimed.

Tiffany explained, "He was slowly poisoned. The herbs removed the poison, but the damage was irreversible."

After speaking, Tiffany left. Shortly after, Victor opened his eyes with difficulty. "Call Mr. Walker… I want… to change my will."

Keith arrived soon after.

"Mr. Ashton, are you sure?" Keith asked. "We can notarize it immediately." Victor nodded.

Forty minutes later, Keith had drafted the new will. "Are you sure you want to leave nothing to your children, including the Treasure Tower?"

"I'm sure," Victor's voice, though weak, was firm.

Keith finalized the will. After everyone left, Samuel wept.

"Mr. Ashton, I investigated. The poison was in your forks. It's my fault. I failed you," the butler confessed.

Victor coughed, spitting blood. "It's not your fault. Betrayal from within is hard to guard against. To think… my own sons…" He laughed bitterly. "Follow the will. I've seen my granddaughter. I can rest now, and give Faith closure…"

"Sir," Samuel hesitated, "We haven't confirmed anything. Are you sure the Miracle Healer is your granddaughter? Isn't that hasty?"

"No mistake," Victor said, a relieved smile gracing his lips before he closed his eyes. The electrocardiogram flatlined.

Keith collapsed, grief-stricken. Victor's funeral was set for three days later. To everyone's shock, he left nothing to his children, bequeathing all his wealth, shares, and the Treasure Tower to an unknown inheritor. The news sent the Ashton family into turmoil. Samuel remained silent, infuriating them. He watched their greed coldly.

Tiffany, unaware of her inheritance, received news of Victor's death.

The next day arrived. The venue for Morwen's event had been changed to Marina Gustro. Tiffany arrived on time. She saw a cruise ship and approached it. Jeremy Cooper was waiting.

"Hm? Didn't I say you didn't have to come?" Tiffany asked.

"Like I'd let you go alone," Jeremy replied, moving to stand protectively beside her.

Tiffany smiled and followed him onto the ship. The cruise started moving slowly along the river.

Morwen, waiting for Tiffany, was surprised to see Jeremy. "Who is this?"

Jeremy ignored her. His bodyguard answered, "Mr. Cooper."

Morwen recognized the name, associating it with the hotel floor rental. She asked for his full name, but received a curt reply. Morwen's face stiffened. She resented his arrogance.
