Chapter 526

The Ashtons stormed in aggressively, believing themselves justified and superior in numbers. Their intention was to force Charlie into an explanation. Charlie's response, however, implied the matter was nonexistent. This enraged Kurt, who hurled a cup in a fit of anger. He didn't intentionally hurt Thalia; the wound was minor and would heal quickly. “Did this little girl have to be so ruthless?” Kurt thought.

Kurt screamed in pain, struggling to rise from the ground. His composure shattered; his face was bloody, his condition dire. Tiffany remained unrepentant, her expression cold as she commanded, "What are you waiting for? Get lost." But the Ashtons, having located them, weren't about to back down so easily.

One woman demanded aggressively, "We can leave, but you must return all the Ashton family assets."

Another chimed in, "That's right. What was Victor thinking? Letting an outsider inherit everything? What right do you have?" The others echoed this sentiment, regarding Tiffany as an enemy who had stolen their inheritance and benefits.

Tiffany was speechless. "It's a little unfair to be the scapegoat," she thought. She twitched her mouth, then said patiently, "I repeat, this inheritance has nothing to do with me. You've got the wrong person."

She had already rejected Samuel's offer, making her position clear. Logically, she should have called Victor "Grandpa" at the funeral, but beyond that, she wanted nothing to do with the Ashtons or their inheritance-related troubles. Despite her efforts to avoid them, they had still come.

Kurt remained unconvinced, scoffing at Tiffany's denial. "The inheritance has nothing to do with her? She's pretending to be obedient after taking advantage of everyone," he thought. "Who can resist that kind of money? I bet she secretly accepted it and is playing dumb." "Does she think we're fools?"

Kurt covered his bleeding nose, sitting on the sofa and sneering, "You'll return that inheritance today. Otherwise, don't blame us for being rough."

The others agreed, demanding the money and threatening to search for it themselves. They rolled up their sleeves, prepared to force the issue.

Seeing the Ashtons about to attack his daughter, Charlie erupted. He slammed the table, shattering the glass top. Fragments flew, causing the nearest Ashtons to duck for cover. Kurt, slightly slower in his reaction, suffered a bloody wound near his eye, narrowly avoiding blindness.

Screams erupted. Everyone was terrified. Even Charlie was momentarily stunned by the force of his own slap. "Is my slap really that powerful?" he wondered. The effect, however, was undeniable.

Charlie snorted coldly, threatening, "Still want trouble? Accidents happen. Blame yourselves if you get hurt or killed."

Kurt, enraged by this humiliation, reached for something hidden beneath his clothes—a gun.

Tiffany, noticing this, felt a surge of killing intent. "How dare he!" she thought, ready to kill Kurt in self-defense. His death, she believed, would be deserved.

Before Kurt could act, Simon Ashton, his brother, intervened, whispering, "You'll only get yourself killed. Do you still want the inheritance?"

"Of course!" Kurt retorted, gesturing to his injured face. He'd acted impulsively, aiming to retaliate against the Kelleys.

Simon, again in a low voice, urged, "Do this quietly…" Kurt understood. Using a gun, regardless of the Kelleys' actions, would be disastrous. He thought of Victor's death, considering a similar plan for the Kelleys. It seemed easy enough.

After Simon's warning, Kurt calmed down, retracting his hand and glaring at Tiffany and Charlie.

"Hmph," he sneered. "I'll spare you for now. But you have three days to return the inheritance. Otherwise…don't blame me."

The Ashtons left, leaving an unnerving silence in the villa. Unbeknownst to Kurt, who felt he had added the Kelleys to his death list, Tiffany had done the same.

Thalia sighed, muttering, "What's wrong with this year? We keep running into trouble. I need to visit Sanctuary Mountain."

Charlie remained unfazed by Kurt's threat, having weathered similar threats throughout his career. He believed such people would ultimately self-destruct. He then looked at his palm, attempting to repeat his table-shattering feat, muttering, "Strange…why can't I break it now?"
