Chapter 541
June gathered her coat and strode away, her figure quickly disappearing into the drizzle. Avianna left in the opposite direction. The night was long and quiet; the wind and rain continued into the next morning.
Tiffany got out of bed and opened her door to find Charlie, her father, standing there with a gloomy expression. Seeing her, he said, “Tiffany, do you have to go so far away?” Tiffany had told them the previous night that she would visit the Azure Sea Royal Family that day, a trip expected to last three to five days. She hadn't hidden her plans to avoid worrying them and promised to stay in contact. She had her phone and wouldn't lose contact.
However, Charlie remained worried, his concern persisting from the previous day. Tiffany said helplessly, "Dad, you'll easily get white hair like this."
"It's quite a lot," Charlie said pitifully. "Tiffany, are you going alone? Should I put aside the company's matters and accompany you?"
"You don't have to," Tiffany shook her head. Her excuse to them had been that she was going to find herbs; she hadn't revealed her connection to the Azure Sea Royal Family. It's better to hide some things for now. Otherwise, they might not accept it right away if I tell them directly, she thought.
Charlie sighed, finally nodding in agreement. "Alright, a girl must protect herself when she's out. Don't force yourself if anything happens. I'll always be your backing."
"I know," Tiffany nodded.
After breakfast, June arrived to pick Tiffany up. Tiffany got into the car and instructed, "Go to Royal Bay first." She needed to tell Richard she'd be away for a few days.
"Okay."
June changed course and drove to Royal Bay. Twenty minutes later, the outline of Royal Bay became clearer. Tiffany checked the time, guessing Richard hadn't left for the company yet.
The car stopped. The large iron gate opened automatically upon recognizing the license plate. June was about to drive in when Tiffany shouted, "Stop!"
The car stopped abruptly. Tiffany turned and saw a figure huddled in the corner of the gate. The person was small, with disheveled hair, her face hidden in her knees, looking pale and pitiful. It was Grelle.
Grelle's carefully crafted public image had been shattered since the incident at the film studio. The exposure of her ambiguous relationship with the son of Ascendant Entertainment's CEO had nearly ruined her career. She'd been labeled a scheming woman, among other things. In any case, she was miserable. Tiffany hadn't expected Grelle to dare come to Royal Bay after everything. Was she so shameless? Tiffany hesitated before opening the car door and getting out.
As Tiffany approached, Grelle looked up happily and muttered, "Mr. Hampton…" Her words died in her throat upon seeing Tiffany.
"Why are you here?" Grelle asked, her initial joy instantly vanishing, replaced by fury.
Tiffany raised an eyebrow and smiled faintly. "Why? Disappointed it's me?"
Grelle's disappointment was obvious. She sneered. "Are you satisfied I've fallen to this state? Are you happy? Are you smug? Let me tell you, don't be smug too early. Otherwise…" Grelle raised her head, her usually pure eyes filled with ruthless anger. "Otherwise, I will ruthlessly crush you one day!"
What a vicious curse, but… naive, Tiffany thought.
Tiffany put on a false smile. "Your words remind me. Why should I give you a chance to come back when I can crush you now?"
Grelle's face stiffened. She hadn't expected such despicable words. She's vicious! Grelle thought.
Grelle stood up, but she was shorter than Tiffany and lacked her presence. Still, she forced composure. "I don't know why Mr. Hampton likes you. You're evil!"
Tiffany raised an eyebrow noncommittally. "You flatter me."
Grelle's words were revealing to Tiffany. So this is how the guilty party complains first. Grelle has done many dirty things herself, but she deliberately turns the tables and says my intentions are evil. Has she forgotten she deliberately fell and used public opinion to smear my reputation at the airport? Has she also forgotten she said ambiguous things in front of reporters at the film studio complex? How shameless.
Tiffany shook her head, seeing no point in arguing. She turned and walked toward Royal Bay, instructing her subordinates, "Throw her out. She's an eyesore. Better for her to be gone."
Grelle was outraged. She stamped her foot. "Tiffany Kelley, who do you think you are to kick me out? What right do you have? If anyone has to go, it's you, not me! I saved Mr. Hampton's life. He should be grateful to me!"
Humans could not bear to reveal their true colors. Grelle had previously addressed Tiffany respectfully, even if it was an act. Now
The corners of Tiffany's mouth twitched. She turned to speak, but a cold voice interrupted, "Why? Because my wife is the mistress of this place. Because she has the final say here."
Everyone looked toward the source of the cold voice. Richard slowly approached. The morning sun shone on him, highlighting his tall, slender figure. He was undeniably handsome and exuded a powerful, noble aura.
Tiffany was momentarily dazed, a hint of complaint crossing her face. Richard attracts women's attention wherever he goes… How can I leave him in peace? What if he has other women around him when I return? Lost in thought, she didn't notice Richard approaching.
