Chapter 546

June was already awake. Seeing Tiffany descend, she quickly served coffee, whispering, "Miss Kelley, don't worry. I made it myself. We brought our own coffee." Their supplies were quite comprehensive. They avoided touching anything unnecessarily, to prevent inadvertently falling into a trap.

Tiffany accepted the coffee and sipped it, praising, "Excellent, June. This is delicious." June laughed.

Tiffany and June chatted casually on the sofa. Shortly after, Garry and John came down from their rooms. They had woken early, but as Tiffany anticipated, immediately upon leaving their rooms, they investigated the castle's exits. Their findings matched Tiffany's information.

However, watchful servants constantly attended to them, ostensibly delivering water and coffee, but clearly eavesdropping. Everyone was aware of this unspoken surveillance, limiting their conversation to trivialities.

After coffee, Tiffany stretched and casually asked, "Didn't you play cards on the plane? Do you have them? Fancy a game?"

Garry, an enthusiastic player, his eyes lit up, immediately had someone retrieve the cards from his luggage. Tiffany, June, Garry, and John began playing on the coffee table.

Tiffany played a pair of eights, smiling, "Eight. Want it?" She tapped the eight twice with her fingertips.

June's eyes flickered. "No, thank you." Garry and John also declined.

They played only two rounds. They had almost gathered all the necessary information. Afterward, June directed her subordinates to pack their luggage. While the observing servants were momentarily distracted, June instructed a subordinate, "Action at 8 p.m." The subordinate nodded subtly and continued packing.

Garry and John, while using the bathroom, covertly relayed information to their subordinates.

Chapter 540 (Part 1)

At 6 p.m., Morwen remained anxious. She repeatedly called a servant, reminding him, "Remember to put the substance in the food. Be careful not to be discovered."

"Miss Xanthus, we followed your instructions, but… but…"

"But what? Speak plainly."

"But they haven't touched the food we prepared. They even brought their own water. We're at a loss," the servant said, his expression bitter.

Morwen was furious. "Idiot! If they won't eat the food, can't you find a way to add it to their water? Do I need to teach you something so simple?"

"They're very wary. I tried, but their people discovered me before I could get close…"

"Then find another way. I don't care what methods you use, you must incapacitate them today. Otherwise, you're finished."

"Yes, yes. I'll do it now."

The servant hung up and added the fine powder to the vegetable soup, then carried it out.

The group sat at the dining table before a self-heating pot. The food was meager, but Tiffany and the others ate uncomplainingly, using forks.

The servant smiled. "My dear guests, surely you can't eat only this? We have prepared a grand meal for you."

Several servants entered, serving dozens of sumptuous dishes: red wine, steak, lamb, all steaming and aromatic.

The servant placed a steak before Tiffany, apologizing, "Miss, please try this. It's the tenderest, most fragrant steak. You'll love the texture."

"Really?" Tiffany offered a half-smile. She detected the knockout drug in the dishes. The drug was potent enough to induce sleep within half an hour, an irreversible sleep.

The servant felt a pang of guilt under Tiffany's gaze, but remained obsequious, urging her to eat. "Yes, yes. Miss, you'll know the taste when you try it."

"I'd like that." To his surprise, Tiffany readily agreed. She elegantly cut into the steak and ate it.

"Yes, it's delicious. Give us several more servings. There are many of us," Tiffany said.

"Alright!" The servant, overjoyed, signaled the kitchen to prepare more. Garry and the others, seeing Tiffany eat, followed suit. Within half an hour, all the dishes were empty. The servant's mouth curled into a triumphant smile. He left to report to Morwen.

Chapter 540 (Part 2)

The servant exaggerated to gain credit, saying, "Miss Xanthus, they were highly vigilant. I had the kitchen make the food incredibly delicious; they couldn't resist and ate everything after the first bite."

"Are you sure?" Morwen asked.

"Absolutely!"

"Good. I'll reward you handsomely." Morwen breathed a sigh of relief, her smile widening. "Leave quietly before 8 p.m. Use the hidden door. Don't let them see you."

"Yes."

The servant, lost in fantasies of reward, returned to the dining room after a while.

In the dining room, June poured water for everyone. "Have you all eaten too much? Have some water to aid digestion."

Everyone drank. The servant smelled a faint, medicinal fragrance in the water. "What kind of water is this?"

June, without looking up, said, "Lemonade."

"Oh." The servant was relieved. It wasn't lemonade, but Miracle Healer's spirit herbs, enough to counteract the knockout drug. The herbs counteracted the poison.

Only Tiffany didn't drink; no medicine could affect her constitution.
