Morwen was speechless. How could anyone be so arrogant? "She's simply lawless," Morwen thought.
"I'm warning you," Morwen said. "If you dare to hurt me, my grandfather will not let you off." She could only rely on the Azure Sea Royal Family's power to intimidate Tiffany.
However, Tiffany slapped Morwen. "Your grandfather? You have the nerve to say that."
Tiffany mused, Why hasn't His Majesty of the Azure Sea Royal Family recovered after all these years? Why did His Majesty collapse again recently and fall into a deep sleep, leaving more than half the royal family's power in Morwen's hands? Does she think she can do whatever she wants? Doesn't she know what she's done? She's a jinx. How dare she mention 'grandfather'?
"How dare you hit me?" Morwen cried.
Morwen, suddenly slapped, covered her face. "Tiffany Kelley, how dare you? Do you know who I am? How dare you slap me?" she exclaimed in disbelief.
Jumping from the bathtub, naked, she lunged to retaliate. But Tiffany easily pushed her back into the water.
"Don't worry," Tiffany said, her eyes cold, a sharp glint between her brows. "I won't kill you right now. Aren't you proud of being the Saintess, the heir to the royal family? Thirteen years of smugness should be enough, right?"
Tiffany turned and left.
"What are you trying to do?" Morwen struggled, trying to chase after her. June, however, quickly untied the rope on Morwen's bathrobe and bound her in the tub.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Morwen screamed, splashing water and foam.
June, impatient, stuffed something in Morwen's mouth. "Just shut up," she said.
Morwen glared at Tiffany, resisting uselessly, praying for her subordinates' swift arrival.
Tiffany, descending the stairs, found Garry had secured the situation. All of Morwen's subordinates were bound. Garry, though usually unreliable, proved remarkably effective in a crisis; he was a skilled fighter with excellent mobility and execution. The same could be said for John.
Morwen's castle fell under their control swiftly. Tiffany escaped silently into the night. Her slender figure was barely visible as she ran towards the royal palace.
Hiding in a corner, she took a deep breath and tossed a coin to a guard. "Ding!" The coin landed crisply in the stillness.
"Who's there?" The guard, weapon drawn, approached cautiously. He found Tiffany, who greeted him with a bright smile. "Hi."
Her smile was captivating, her eyes sparkling. The guard hesitated, then, as he prepared to attack, she sighed. "I'm sorry."
A powerful punch felled him instantly. The simplicity of the attack contrasted sharply with her innocent façade.
Other guards, sensing something amiss, approached. They found their colleague picking something up. "What are you doing?" they asked.
"Picking up money." He held up several bills. The other guards were envious. "You're so lucky! How much did you find?"
"Those who see it get a share." He distributed some bills.
The guards readily accepted. "Since you're so generous…"
"We're all friends," he said, finally standing. "Guard this well. I'm going to the toilet."
He dashed into the palace. The guards scratched their heads. "How much did he get? Pete sounds so excited!"
"A little, I guess. Who cares? We're in on it anyway." They returned to their posts.
Disguised as a guard, Tiffany headed straight for the Azure Sea King's palace. She couldn't enter openly and had to sneak in. The guard's uniform was the perfect disguise.
She approached the main hall, but guards stopped her. "Which group are you with? What's your business?"
"I have a message for His Majesty."
"What news?"
"Confidential information." This was essentially meaningless, but the information was too sensitive to be shared casually.
The guard, though annoyed, let her pass. "Go in."
"Thank you."
In the inner hall, Tiffany's heart pounded at the sight of His Majesty's bed. She wanted to check on him, but another man sat nearby, his back to her.
How can I lure him away? she wondered.
As she pondered, the man turned. He was strikingly handsome, his eyes captivating. Tiffany was stunned, her disguise forgotten. She felt a strange familiarity, though she couldn't place it.
Where had she seen him before?
